This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub fields in the area. Articles of a multidisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Dr. Bai Yang is a professor at the State Key Lab of Supramolecular Structure and Materials, the College of Chemistry at Jilin University. He received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics in 1991 at Jilin University. His research interests related with polymeric nanostructured building blocks such as Carbonized Polymer Dots and Polymer Composite with Quantum Dots and its related functional materials including optical, photonic, photo-electric and photo-responsive materials. He has co authored over 600 papers published with more than 26000 sum cited times.
Dr. Xiao Wang is an Associate Professor in Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He obtained his PhD degree from Loughborough University, UK. His main research interests include nanomaterials, polymer composites, carbon materials and membrane materials. He is currently a PI of several research projects on materials science, in national and international level. He has published numerous international research and review papers in reputed journals. He is a regular reviewer of several international journals. He won the “Light of West China” award in 2015.
王啸,博士,副研究员,就职于中国科学院重庆绿色智能技术研究院微纳制造 与系统集成研究中心。中国科学院“西部之光”人才计划入选者;主持国家自然 基金委、中国科学院、重庆市科技局以及企业横向项目10余项;发表SCI论文30 余篇。主要从事高分子纳米复合功能材料的研发与应用工作,在碳纳米光学涂 层材料、高分子纳米复合纤维、高性能树脂复合材料、膜分离材料等方面取得 了突破,部分成果已实现商业应用。
Jianqiang Liu obtained his PhD degree from Northwest University, China in 2010. He then joined the School of Pharmacy at the Guangdong Medical University as an Assistant Professor in 2012. He was promoted to a Full Professor in 2019. From 2012 to 2019, he worked as a senior visiting scholar at Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen Medical University in Taiwan and Yamagata University in Japan. His current research interest focuses on the development of functional materials including metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and porous organic polymers (POPs) for energy, biology, and environment-related applications.
Yongfeng Shen is currently a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Northeastern University, P.R. China. He did his PhD in Material Science in 2006. He was a visiting scientist at Pacific Northwest National Lab. (PNNL), USA from October 2009 to May 2010. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals including Science, Acta Mater., Int. J Plasticity, Appl.Mater. Today, Bioresource Technol., Scripta Mate., Mater. Sci. Eng. A, Sci. Rep., etc
Dr. Zhu is an assistant professor of physics in the department of physics and engineering physics at the University of Tulsa. Her research areas are related to III-Nitride semiconductor nanostructures for solid-state lighting technologies. Her research work covers the theoretical and experimental aspects of the physics of nano-scale semiconductors, MOCVD, and device fabrications of III-Nitride semiconductor devices on GaN substrates, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization. Her research interests include phosphor-converted white LED, the light extraction efficiency of GaN-based LED and organic LED, solar hydrogen generation based on III-V semiconductors.
Prof. Ming Zheng obtained his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015. After working at National University of Singapore, The University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. Zheng was awarded the Japan Society for The Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship and joined Nagoya University, Japan, in 2018. In 2019, he was invited to join China University of Mining and Technology as a full professor. His current research interests include functional (multiferroic, ferroelectric, magnetic and luminescent) thin-film materials and device physics. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 papers published in international reputed journals including NPG Asia Mater. (2), Adv. Funct. Mater., Nano Energy, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces (2), Appl. Phys. Lett. (9), Phys. Rev. Applied (3), Phys. Rev. B. He also served as Guest Editor for Special Issue of the journal Coatings entitled "Functional Ferroic Materials, Films and Devices", and Editorial Board Member for Journal of Advanced Ceramics. In 2021, he was honored with IAAM Young Scientist Medal in recognition for his contribution to "Hybrid Electronic, Magnetic & Optical Materials".
Dr. Weiqiang Zhou is currently serving at the department of chemistry in Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University. He received his PhD from the College of Chemistry in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Soochow University, PR China in 2011. He did the Postdocs in Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Organic Chemistry. His research interests include the design, synthesis, properties and applications of conductive polymers, metal catalysts and 2D materials in the fields of super capacitors, fuel cell, thermoelectricity, and environment detection. He has published 94 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
Dr. Mohmed S. Selim received his Ph.D. degree from Ain Shams University, Egypt through a co-operation between the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI), Egypt and the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan in 2015 in the field of Polymer Chemistry and Materials Science. He got a Postdoctoral Scholar from the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, University of Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, China in the Functional Polymer Materials Lab during 2016-2017. Besides, he got another postdoctoral scholarship from the School of Chemical Engineering and Light Industry, Guangdong University of Technology, China in the Clean Chemistry Technology Lab during 2018-2020. Since 2021, he is working as an associate professor in the EPRI, Cairo, Egypt. He has more than 40 publications in international and high impact factor journals and attended many international conferences. He is a reviewer and editorial board member in a number of journals in the fields of nanostructured materials and nanocomposite coatings. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of nanostructured materials and polymeric nanocomposites for biological and environmental applications, especially the superhydrophobic surfaces, antibacterial structures, and antifouling coatings.
Dr. Sachin Kumar received the B.Tech degree from the Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India, in 2009, and the M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, India, in 2011 and 2016, respectively. He is currently a Researcher at the Digital Technology Research Centre, Kyungpook National University, South Korea. He has published more than seventy research articles in several peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He is also a frequent reviewer for more than fifty scientific journals and book publishers. He is a recipient of the Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship from the Government of NCT of Delhi, India, and the Brain Korea 21 plus Research Fellowship from the National Research Foundation of South Korea. He is a member of the Indian Society for Technical Education and the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science.
Dr. Wenhui Li is currently working in semiconductor thin film research and development in Applied Materials. Inc., California, United States. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA, in 2019. Her research interests include semiconductor thin film, chemical vapor deposition, nanomaterial synthesis, characterization and application, synchrotron X-ray absorption and scattering, and heterogeneous catalysis.
Dr Siyu Lu is currently an Associate Professor at the College of Chemistry, Zhengzhou University. He received his PhD in Polymer Physics and Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Bai Yang at Jilin University. His research interests relate to the design, preparation, properties of photoelectric nanocrystals (carbon dots, semiconductors, etc.), and their applications in catalysis, superconductivity, thermoelectricity, and structural prediction. Besides, Dr Lu has published more than 50 papers in well-reputed journals.
Dr. Haizhu Sun is currently a Professor of the College of Chemistry at Northeast Normal
University. She received her PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics in 2008 from Jilin
University. Her research interests are related with design, synthesis, and properties of
new
energy materials that can find applications in photo-electric conversion, energy storage
and
photocatalysis,
Dr. Wanneng Ye received his PhD in material science from Qingdao University in 2014, then he was appointed as a faculty member of Qingdao University, and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor. He has expertise in X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. His current research interests mainly focus on synthesis, characterization and application of nanostructured catalysts in environmental remediation and transmission electron microscopy. He has published more than 40 papers on various aspects of environmental technology and ferroelectric materials.
Dr. Sk Faruque Ahmed is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Aliah University, Kolkata, India. Presently, he is also Controller of Examinations (Acting), Aliah University. He has served as the Head of the Department of Physics, Aliah University (2017-2019). He is a life member of different societies such as, Indian Physical Society (IPS), Materials Research Society of India (MRSI), Semiconductor Society India (SSI), The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). He is an Editorial Board Member of American Journal of Nano Research and Applications (NANO). Dr. Ahmed has been selected for Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award - 2018. He is basically working in the field ofNanoscience and Nanotechnology. His current field of research interest is synthesis and characterization of different nanostructure semiconductor thin films as well as carbon nanostructure. He has published several international journal papers, book chapters and patents including the first and corresponding author.
Dr. Wei Zhang received his BEng (2005) and MEng (2008) and PhD (2012) degrees from Sichuan University, China. During 2009-2011, he studied in Georgia Institute of Technology as a visiting student. He has published 70+ SCI paper, which have received 2400+ citations excluding self-citations with an H-index of 32 according to the Web of Science Core Collection. His research work has been highlighted by Science and Technology Daily (in Chinese), C&EN, MaterialsToday, etc. He is an editor/editorial broad member for 9 international journals, and has served as referee for 60+ SCI journals including Advanced Materials and ACS Nano.
Dr. Ray has completed his undergraduate studies from IIT Kanpur, India and PhD from University of St. Andrews, UK. He worked at CEA Grenoble, France and TU Darmstadt, Germany before joining his current position as an Assistant Professor at IIT Patna, India. His current research team includes 9 PhD students and 2 Masters students, working in various areas in condensed matter and nanoscale physics using various experimental and computational methodologies. He has received several research grants/awards from India, UK, France and Germany.
Dr. Vudhichai Parasuk obtained his Ph.D. degree from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 1991.Currently, he is director of Nanoscience and Technology program and Petrochemistry and Polymer Science Program at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok ,Thailand. His research field includes quantum mechanical calculations with the application in kinetics and mechanistic studies of catalysts and catalysis and novel nanomaterials such as graphene and graphene quantum dots. He has published almost 58 research papers and his publications have citations of over more than 1180.
Dr. Pradip Thakur is an Assistant Professor and the Head of the Department of Physics at Netaji Nagar College for Women, Kolkata, India. He acquired his Ph.D. in 2016 from Jadavpur University, India. Before that he completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics in 2012 and 2010 respectively from the same university. His current research interests include the development of advanced multifunctional materials, piezo-, pyro- and ferro-electric polymers, synthesis and characterization of ceramic and metallic nanomaterials, designing of self-charging polymeric photo-power cells, fabrication of smart integrated devices for clean energy harvesting from living system and storage.
Professor Sheshanath V. Bhosale completed his M.Sc. in chemistry from the Maharashtra Udayagiri Mahavidyalaya, Udgir (S.R.T.M.U.Nanded) in 1999. He received his Ph.D. (Magna Cum Lauda) in supramolecular chemistry under the supervision of Prof. J. H. Fuhrhop in 2004 at the Freie University Berlin, Germany. Dr. Bhosale pursued his postdoctoral studies with Prof. S. Matile at University of Geneva, Switzerland, under the auspices of a Roche Foundation Fellowship. He worked as an ARC-APD Fellow at Monash University, Australia, for five years and also as an ARC-Future Fellow at RMIT University, Melbourne for 6 years. Prof. Bhosale has been working at the School of Chemical Sciences, Goa University, India as a UGC-FRP Professor since 2018. His research interests include in design and synthesis of π-functional materials, especially small molecules, for sensing, biomaterials and supramolecular chemistry applications.
Dr. Hosam Saleh is a Professor of radioactive waste management at the Radioisotope Department, Atomic Energy Authority, Egypt. He was awarded the MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Physical Chemistry at Cairo University. Dr. Saleh has more than 23 years of experience in hazardous waste management with an emphasis on treatment and developing new matrices for immobilization of these wastes. He is also interested in studying innovative economic and environment-friendly techniques for the management of hazardous and radioactive wastes. He has authored many peer-reviewed scientific papers, book chapters, and served as a Book Editor of several books related to international publishers.
Dr. Sergey Dub graduated from Kiev State University in 1977 and completed his PhD from the Institute for Superhard Materials, Kiev in 1983. Currently he is a leading research scientist at the Institute for Superhard Materials of the National Academy of Sciences, Kiev, Ukraine. His scientific interests include hardness of diamond and cBN, nanoindentation, mechanical properties of protective coatings and thin films, onset of plasticity in nano deformation of solids, nanoindentation studies of pressure–induced phase transformation during hardness tests.
Dr. Evgeny Grigoryev obtained his Ph.D from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Russia. He is Head Laboratory of High-Energy Methods for Synthesis of Ultrahigh-Temperature Ceramic Materials in Merzhanov Institute of Structural Macrokinetics and Materials Science Russian Academy of Sciences . His current research focuses on Field Assisted sintering technologies: High-voltage electric discharge consolidation, Low-voltage electric discharge consolidation (spark plasma sintering), Flash sintering, Microwave sintering, Magnetic pulse compaction, etc. He is the co-author of more than 190 publications in refereed international journals, 23 patents. His research contributions are recognized with prestigious awards, Lenin’s Komsomol Prize Laureate of Physics and Technical Sciences, 1979.
Prof. Fu received the PhDdegree in Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University in2009. He is currently a professor in the School of Physics at PekingUniversity. His research is interested in the ion solid interactions, ion beam analysis and modification of materials and plasma facing materials in fusion system.
Dr. Pang Yean Ling is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She completed her Bachelor and Doctoral Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2009 and 2013, respectively from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). After a year of post-doctoral research in University of Malaya (UM), I joined UTAR in December 2014 until now. Currently, she has published 36 journal articles indexed in the Web of Science, 18 research papers have also been presented in various international and national conferences and 2 book chapters.
Dr. P. Prabhakar Rao obtained his Ph.D from University of Kerala, Trivandrum. He is presently working as Emeritus Scientist in the Department of Materials Science and Technology Division. Current research is focused on functional energy materials of complex ceramic oxide systems with particular emphasis towards photoluminescent materials for white light emitting diode applications, eco-friendly IR reflecting pigments as energy saving products, solid oxide electrolyte materials for low temperature SOFC applications. He is co-author of 120 scientific papers in refereed international journals and eight international patents. He published 200 powder diffraction structural data of novel ceramic oxides in the International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD), USA database for future references. His research contributions are recognized with several prestigious awards, the most notable are the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) Medal, International Recognition Certificate from ICDD, USA and elected as a Fellow of Electron Microscope Society of India.
Dr. Chunqing Wang received his B.Sc. degree in Welding, the M.Sc. degree in Materials Processing, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics packaging technology from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Harbin, China, in 1982, 1984, and 1989, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the School of Materials Science and Technology in HIT. He set up the Department of Electronics Packaging Technology, HIT, in 2007, where he has supervised about 30 Ph.D. and 100 M.Sc. students in Electronics Packaging. He has authored or co-authored over 300 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and over 90 international conference papers in the area of micro joining method, failure analysis, thermal management, reliability, and joining materials for electronics packaging.
Prof. Ahmad Ramazani S.A graduated from the chemical engineering department of Laval University in 1999, Canada. He has worked as university professor in Sharif University of Technology in Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering since 1999. His research works are in interdisciplinary subjects mostly relating to experimental and theoretical investigation of polymer related processes and polymer properties and flow of polymeric and non-Newtonian fluids in different engineering fields including polymer, biomedical and petroleum engineering. He has been theses director of more than 220 students in master and Ph.D. levels. He published more than 180 papers in international journals and presented more than 200 more in international congresses. He published several books and chapter books and also several national and international patents including four US patents.
Dr. M. Sherif El-Eskandarany is a full Professor of materials science and nanotechnology. He gained his Master and Doctor Degrees from Tohoku University, Japan in 1988 and 1992, respectively. He worked as a Professor at the Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, Japan, Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, Al-Azhar University, Egypt. Until 2007, he worked as First-Under-Secretary of Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the was the former Vice-President of The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt. He joined Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research to work as Senior Research Scientist in 2007. Since 2007, he has worked as Senior Research Scientist and Program Manager of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials. In 2018 he was promoted to Principal Research Scientist. He has published more than 270 peer-reviewed papers in high-cited international scientific journals in the field of materials science, nanoscience, and nanotechnology and more than 200 papers in the proceedings of several international conferences. He is the author of six scientific books and received many national and international awards, one of them given by the Former Egyptian President. He was awarded 6 patents from the USA Patent and TradeMark Office.
Dr. Haim Abramovich Obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion, in 1975, 1979 and 1983, respectively. His main fields of interest are: static and dynamic stability of thin walled structures, piezoelectric materials, laminated composite structures, dynamic buckling of thin walled structures, smart structures technologies, structural mechanics and energy harvesting using piezoelectric and pyroelectric materials . He has published more than 107 papers in well-known international journals on these quoted subjects. He is the author of 10 patents on piezoelectric harvesting devices. Prof M F Wani, is professor and Dean at NIT Srinagar Kashmir. He has 35 years of teaching and research experience in the file of Nanotribology, Tribology of high temperature ceramics, Life cycle design, sustainability of mechanical systems, design for LCD etc. He is presently looking after central research facility centre at NIT Srinagar. He is also in charge of a high temperature Tribology laboratory at NIT . He has published more than 150 research papers in reputed international journals. He is serving as EBM in many international journals.He has already supervised 12 PhD research successfully and has also guided more than 50 Master thesis related to Nanotribology, Tribology of materials.

Dr. Sanjay Mavinkere Rangappa, is currently working as Research Scientist at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand. He has received the B.E (Mechanical Engineering) from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, India in the year 2010, M.Tech (Computational Analysis in Mechanical Sciences) from VTU Extension Centre, GEC, Hassan, in the year 2013, Ph.D (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Science) from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, India in the year 2017 and Post Doctorate from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand, in the year 2019. He is a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Associate Member of Institute of Engineers (India). He is a reviewer for more than 50+ international Journals and international conferences (for Elsevier, Springer, Sage, Taylor & Francis, Wiley). In addition, he has published more than 100 articles in high quality international peer reviewed journals, 30+ book Chapters, one book, 15 books (Editor), 3 Editorial Corner and also presented research papers at national/international conferences. His current research areas include Natural fiber composites, Polymer Composites and Advanced Material Technology. He is a recipient of DAAD Academic exchange- PPP Programme (Project- related Personnel Exchange) between Thailand and Germany to Institute of Composite Materials, University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has received a Top Peer Reviewer 2019 award, Global Peer Review Awards, Powered by Publons, Web of Science Group.
Dongxiao Ji is a research fellow in department of mechanical engineering at National University of Singapore. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in textile science and engineering from Donghua University in 2012 and 2018, respectively. Dr. Ji is experienced in experimental and analytical research work on heterogeneous catalysis, functional nanofibers, and large-scale electrospinng. His research interests include smart/electronic textiles, functional electrospinning membranes, heterogeneous catalysis, and surface modification for environmental and energy applications.
Currently, Prof. Ke Wang is heading the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering in East China University of Technology (ECUT). He had been working in the UK for several years. Before that, he received Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) research award to carry out his work in RWTH-Aachen. Prof. Wang serves as Editorial Board Member for over ten scientific journals and as the Editor for publishing several international conference proceedings. He has published more than 70 peer reviewed papers and holds several patents.
Dr. Pan has interests in general Materials Science and Engineering including metallic, ceramics, organic and composite materials. His research is focused on the area of multiscale and multi-physics modeling of materials. Dr. Pan has led and participated in over 30 research projects in the broad areas of steel corrosion, aging of polymers, and degradation of cementitious materials. Dr. Pan has published more than 100 peer- reviewed publications and taught the subject of Materials Science and Engineering for ten years. Dr. Pan is a member of several professional organizations including US Transportation Research Board (TRB) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Dr Chao Zhang is currently a Vice Dean and Full Professor at Yangzhou University, College of Mechanical Engineering, China where he is leading a research group on thermal spray coatings and gas sensors. He acquired his joint PhD degree in 2009 from Technology University of Belfort-Montbeliard, France and Xi'an Jiaotong University. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher, and then a Senior Researcher in the Materials Science Department of Engineering School of the University of Mons (Belgium) in 2014. His research interests focus on materials science, especially thermal-sprayed coatings for wear-resistant and gas-sensitive applications. He has authorized more than 100 academic papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Pei-Hsing Huang received his Ph.D in molecular simulation and laser sintering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of National Cheng Kung University in 2008. He is currently a full Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. As the advisor of Micro/Nanomechanics and Molecular Simulation Lab, he presided over more than 40 national and industrial scientific research projects. He conducts research focusing on nano-materials, interfacial science, laser/casting processing, and molecular fluid separation/purification. Dr. Nicolás M. Rendtorff is a Vicedirector of the Mineral Resources and Ceramics Technology Center (CETMIC: CONICET-CIC-UNLP), Argentina. He received his MSc (2004) and PHD (2009) in Materials Chemistry, UNLP- La Plata National University - Argentina; Postdoc: Nano Ceramic Center, NIMS Japan (2010). CONICET Tenure Researcher since 2010 CETMIC. He has been an Adjunct Professor at UNLP Since 2017. He is also a Vice President of the Argentinean Technical Ceramic Association (ATAC) since 2018. Ceramic science and technology specialist. He is working on advanced and traditional ceramic materials design, processing and characterization.
Prof. Venkatesan Renugopalakrishnan, a biophysicist by formal training has migrated to several interdisciplinary areas where basic science, nano, materials, and medical sciences overlap. Over the years, his research focus is on graphene protein microfluidic sensors for applications in endocrinology, nephrology, neonatal pediatrics, bio solar perovskite cells, very high density protein based thin film and micro SD cards for mobile devices, smell receptors anchored on active carbon based platforms, biofuel cells, aquaporin biomimetic membranes for water recovery and desalination. Since March 2020, his research is focused on immunobiology, engineering monoclonal antibodies, cryo EM of pseudo-SARS CoV2 viruses. He teaches at the Harvard Medical School and Northeastern University. Originally, hailing from Prof G N Ramachandran's Laboratory at the University of Madras, he has worked under two Nobel Laureates, Prof Stanford Moore, Rockefeller University and Prof. Harold Urey at Columbia University. His current affiliations are Northeastern University, MGB Center for COVID Innovation, Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard and this year as a Howard Hughes Chair, Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI. He is the author of approx. 300 papers including reviews.
Dr. Wang Haibin, Associate Professor, is a member of Nanomaterials and Computational Materials Science team of Beijing University of Technology (BJUT). He joined BJUT in 2013 and has worked as an academic visitor in the National Physical Laboratory of the UK from Oct. 2018 to Oct. 2019. He has published more than 60 SCI papers on international major journals and over 30 China invention patents. He was awarded "The Second Prize of Beijing Technological Invention Award" by the Science and Technology Commission of Beijing in 2016. His research is mainly focused on high-performance cemented carbides materials.
Dr. Wenjun ZHU is an Associate Professor at the college of Transportation Engineering, Tongji University. His research interests mainly focus on the durability of the reinforced concrete in chloride environment, the initiation and propagation of the cracking of the concrete in the condition of chloride ions and the train loads, the influence of cracking on the performance of the track structures.
Zhan Wang is a professor, doctoral tutor. Chief expert of Chines water technology of the 45 th World Skills Competition. He graduated from East China Institute of Chemical Technology and obtained a Bachelor's degree in 1987. He was selected as a student for studying abroad during the post-graduate in Department of chemical engineering in Tsinghua University in 1990, He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Russian St. Petersburg Technological University. He joined Beijing University of Technology since September 1995, promoted to professor in 2005, awarded the title of young and middle-aged backbone teachers of Beijing municipal education commission in 2006 and qualified as a doctoral supervisor in 2007. As a visiting research professor, he was studied at George Belfort group in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from March 2009 to March 2010. He hosted many scientific research projects, such as national fund, municipal fund, municipal education commission project, international cooperation projects of ministry of science and technology, and the national fund project between China and Russia. He also worked as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Chemical Engineering Research Updates and editor of a series Chinese journals, such as Technology of Water Treatment (2013.09- ), Membrane Science and Technology (2003.09-2007.09), guest editor of Environment Science and Technology (2009.1-2010.12) etc.
Yingguo Yang obtained the Ph. D. in Optics from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He subsequently joined the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, CAS) as an advanced beam scientist of X-ray diffraction station (BL14B1). His current research is focused on interface physics of perovskites solar cells, perovskites light emitting diode, spin- optoelectronic devices, and the development of Synchrotron-based in-situ techniques. Dr Yang is the author and coauthor of more than 90 scientific papers, including Science, nature photonics, JACS, Advanced Materials, Nature Communication, Nano Energy, etc.
L.L. Dong, born 1990, inaugurated in Advanced Materials Research Central, Northwest Institute for Nonferrous Metal Research. His research focuses on graphene metal matrix composites, high-performance contact materials and industrial preparation of large batch graphene in chemical. He is elected member of China Non- Ferrous Metals Industry Association, Forums of Graphene International Materials, Reviewer of 6 international journals, including Carbon, Chemical Engineering Journal, ACS Applied Materials Interface, and Journal of Alloy and Compounds. He published more than 30 articles since 2015, including the impact factor of 13 papers over 3.0.
Eugen Axinte obtained his Bachelor's Degree in 1989 and PhD in 1998 from "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi. He is now a full Professor of the Machine Manufacturing Department and the Senate member at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania. He is also editorial board member of several international journals (Materials & Design by Elsevier, Recent Patents on Materials Science by Bentham Science Publishers; Modern Mechanical Engineering by Scientific Research Publishing - SCIRP). Eugen Axinte is a reviewer in some high impact factor journals: Materials & Design; Materials Science and Engineering B; Journal of Alloys and Compounds; Solar Energy; International Journal of Thermal Sciences.; Journal of Materials Processing Technology; Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220). His research interests include the applications of new materials (metallic glasses, glass, glass composites, ceramics) in industrial practice. He has published more than 80 research papers in journals and proceedings. In the years 2010 to 2019, he also got awards for the results of scientific research from the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI)-Romania.
Hengcheng Liao received his Ph.D. in Solidification and Control of Alloys from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, 2000. Before, he completed his M. S. in Composite Materials from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Southeast University, 1991. He has published more than 150 papers, 10 Invention Patents certified, and 8 Utility Model Patents certificated. His research area revolves around the Solidification process and control of metals and alloys; advanced metallic materials, especially Aluminum alloys; and High-Entropy Alloy and its Additive Manufacture.
Dr. Zhongqiu Liu, Associate Professor from Northeastern University, China. He conducts research focusing on steel cleanliness, continuous casting, and CFD application in metallurgy. He is working on different projects concerning numerical modeling of metallurgical processes, such as continuous casting of steel, ingot casting, electro-slag-remelting, etc. In addition, he is doing basic research on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods, such as large eddy simulation (LES), population balance approach (PBA), electromagnetic braking (EMBr), electromagnetic stirring (EMS), etc. Beside research activities he is giving different courses, lectures and exercises for students on fundamentals of numerical modeling, application of simulation in steel production.
Wencai Liu received a doctor's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2011. He has been engaged in the development and application technology research of high-Performance magnesium/aluminum alloys for a long time. As the project leader, he presided over more than 18 national and provincial scientific research projects. He was selected as a Young Star Scholar of Science and Technology in Shanghai and a Young Star Scholar of Morningstar in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and won one first prize of technology invention in Shanghai. He has published 105 academic papers, applied for 69 national invention patents, 36 of which have been authorized.
Dr Shen is currently a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering Northeastern University. His Interest mainly focuses on the nanostructures strengthened advanced high strength steels, mechanical performances of high entropy alloys (HEAs) with complex structures, and heterogeneous microstructures strengthened metallic materials. He has more than 90 original journal publications (including top ranking journals such as Acta Materials, Scientific Reports, Scripta Materials, Bioresource Technology ,etc.). He has received awards including 44th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva- Gold & Silver medals (2016); The first prize of Liaoning Province Natural Science (2014); The first prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress (2012).
Dr Ton-That received his PhD in Chemistry from Innsbruck University (Austria) in 1996 and completed his postdoc in Polymer Physics at Technical University of Darmstadt - Germany Plastic Institute (Germany) in 1998 to complete his education in both field of chemistry and physic of polymer. He joined the NRC Canada since 1998. He has over 20 years of experience in synthesis, formulation and surface treatment of polymers as well as polymer composites and nanocomposites for industrial applications from eco-responsible to functional materials. He has been granted 15 patents and also has 4 patent pendings and 4 inventions in this field. In addition he has published over 70 articles in international journals, written 180 technical reports and presented more than 150 papers at different international conferences (with more than 10 invited speakers/keynotes). He has been a thrust leader and project leader for multiple national and international collaborating projects, including fundamental, industrial and technology transfer projects and technical consortiums, in the polymer field to resolve the challenges of industry. He has also organized and co-organized a number of conference, symposium and workshop in the polymer field. A number of his technologies has been implemented in pilot scale and commercial productions.
Dr. Long Wan is currently a professor and doctor supervisor in Harbin Institute of Technology. He has published more than 40 patents and 40 science citation index papers. He has won more than 30 honors including National Special Support Program for High-level Personnel Recruitment and Science & Technology Nova Program. Some academic outcomes have been commercialized, and reported by various mass media, such as China Daily. His current research interests focus on friction stir processing machine and technology, microstructure characterization and the evaluation of joint performance.
Dr Yao Wang is currently a Professor at South China Normal University. He has received his PhD degree in major Polymer Chemistry and Physics in June 2005. He has been awarded "Outstanding Young Talents" by SCNU on June 2017. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed SCI papers in the fields of graphene-based gas sensor materials, supramolecular assembly and gas, photo, temperature and electricity responsive functional polymer materials on JACS, ACS Nano, Chem. Mater. etc, and 3 chapters in one book. His research interests include Graphene-based gas sensor material; Gas, photo, temperature and electricity responsive functional polymer materials; supramolecular assembly.
Dr. Wenyan Zhang is an associate Professor of Jinling Institute of Technology, China. She focus on themultidiciplinary researchfields of photo/electronic catalysis, new energy resources generation and conversion (especially hydrogen energy generation and solar energy conversion),nano materials design, electrons transfer in organic/bio molecules or nano-materials, chirality transfer and spin selectivity(CISS effect), bio- sensor, persistent photoluminescent materials, as well as self-assembled monolayers. Because of he excellent work, she was awarded with Young Scientist fellow funding from Jiangsu Provincial government.
Afang Zhang received a PhD from Peking University. Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor at Shanghai University. His research interests focus on dendritic polymers, helical polymers; Stimuli-responsive polymers, and supramolecular polymers. He has published more than 50 research papers in several distinguished journals. Also, Dr Zhang has contributed a few patents. Besides, he has won several awards such as Henan Outstanding Scholarship for Youth Scientists (1997), Shanghai Outstanding Scholar (2011), A 1000-plan Scholar affiliated to Shanghai Government (2011), Pujiang Shanghai Scholar (2011) and many more.
Dr. Chunwei Zhang, male, born in September 1977 in Heilongjiang Province, China, currently works at Qingdao University of Technology (QUT). He is the Chair Professor, PhD Supervisor, and Discipline Leader of Civil Engineering at QUT. He is the Foundation Director of Structural Vibration Control group, Chair Professor of “first- class discipline: Civil Engineering” for Shandong Province. He received the PhD degree in 2005 from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), which is one of the top nine universities in China. His research interest includes structural vibration control, structural health monitoring, prefabricated structures, structural anti-blast and protective structures etc. He is the author or co-author of 136 Journal publications (majority in SCI or EI indexed journals) and more than 80 conference publications. He is the owner of 25 patents. He is also a regular reviewer for a number of high impact international journals, including Engineering Structures, Mechanical System and Signal Processing, Structural Control and Health Monitoring etc. He is co-editor for two international conferences proceedings.
Dr Wenchao Yang is currently working as an Associate Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Solidification Processing, School of Materials Science and Engineering, China. His research fields include a) Solidification and creep behaviour at a high temperature of Ni-based single crystal superalloy, b) Development and application of automotive lightweight Al alloy, c) Heterogeneous Nucleation and grain growth during solidification, and d) Microstructure of metal materials using by HRTEM and 3DAPT. So far, he has published 49 SCI academic papers at international journals including Scripta Materialia, Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Materials Science and Engineering: A, Materials Characterization and Philosophical Magazine Letters et al., and also served as these Journal’s reviewer. Besides, he has taken part in many international conferences in solidification and metal materials and made the oral and poster presentation.
Muhammad Fadhlullah Abd. Shukur is a Senior Lecturer at the Fundamental and Applied Sciences Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). He joined UTP in December 2016 and has since then served UTP till date. His research interest is in the field of ionic conductors including the development and characterization of polymer electrolytes for application in various energy storage devices.
Dr. Xizhong An got his Ph. D degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing (China) in 2002 and worked as a postdoc fellow in the University of New South Wales (Australia) in 2003-2005. Currently, he is a full professor and director at the Institute of Particle Technology, Northeastern University. Prof. An's research interests include particulate science/engineering, powder metallurgy, refractory metals/alloys, additive manufacturing. In recent years, he has undertaken 30 projects, published & 130 SCI journal papers, and authorized 27 patents. Besides he received many honors/awards, he has also been engaged in many academic/social organizations and played a significant role therein.
Dr. Mohammad Hossein Sayadi (MH Sayadi) obtained his PhD in Environmental Sciences, Pune University, Pune, India, in 2010. He is now working in the Department of Environmental Engineering,Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Birjand. He is interested in novel strategies for surface modification with biopolymers and synthetic routes for preparing nanomaterials with innovative and enhanced properties. Also, he has research interests in water and wastewater treatment with focus on advanced oxidation and separation processes.
Dr. Zheng Li received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics and Electric Drive from Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, China, in 2007. Since 2007, he has been a Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor with the School of Electrical Engineering, Hebei University of Science and Technology. From July 2013 to July 2014, he has been a visiting scholar and part-time faculty in the College of Engineering, Wayne State University, USA. He is the author of more than 240 published papers. His current research interests include design, analysis, and control of novel motors and actuators, renewable energy generation, intelligent control, and power electronics.
Dr. Yulia Spivak currently is an associate professor at the Laboratory of Nanomaterials, Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics, Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University «LETI». She obtained a Ph.D. degree at ETU "LETI"; in 2008 in Physics of Semiconductor. She had a laboratory internship in the Thin Film Physics Group, ETH Zurich in 2006 (scholarship from the President of the Russian Federation). Her current research is focused on hierarchical porous materials: synthesis and study; porous silicon nanoparticles for theranostics and targeted drug delivery, atomic force microscopy, scanning spreading resistance microscopy for nanostructured materials. She has published more than 50 peer reviewed papers, 15 chapters in monographs and textbooks, several patents.
Dr. E.Rahimi is a mine engineer with more than 11 years of experience in teaching and searching mining engineering in several fields. His area of expertise is related to searching in the field of mineral economy and some aspects of mineral engineering, processing and environment.
Professor Ugur Topal received his PhD in physics from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 2003. After working as a research assistant at Abant İzzet Baysal University for 4 years, he joined National Metrology Institute (UME) of Turkey in 1999. He is research areas include: synthesis and characterization of magnetic and superconducting materials, their potential applications in industry; magnetic sensor technologies and functional materials; attitude and control determination sensors and actuators of low and medium orbit satellites. He is a reviewer of more than 20 international journals and editorial board member of “Electronics Science Technology and Application”, IOP, Thermals Science and Engineering (enpress) etc.
Dr. Jitang Fan received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Materials Sciences from Harbin University of Science and Technology (2005) and The Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2008) in China, respectively. He completed his PhD in Materials Mechanics from Delft University of Technology (2015) in Netherlands under the supervision of Prof. L.J.Sluys and Dr. J. Weerheijm. Currently, he is a professor at the Department of Engineering Mechanics, School of Mechatronics Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China. His research interests include the development of novel impact-resistant materials (metals, polymers, composites), high-performance composite structures as well as their static and dynamic mechanical responses (strain rate effect, deformation and fracture, energy absorption).
Dr. Rajender Boddula is currently working as Chinese Academy of Sciences- President’s International Fellowship Initiative (CAS-PIFI) at CAS-National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Beijing, China. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), India in 2014. He has published many scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has authored around twenty book chapters, and also serving as editorial board member and referee for reputed international peer-reviewed journals (Nano Letters, Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Material Science Engineering, etc.). He has been awarded Australian Endeavour Research Fellowship by the Australian Government, CAS-PIFI from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Junior/Senior Research Fellowships from University of Grant Commission, India.
Dr. Amirmahmoud Bakhshayesh has earned his BSc and MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (SUT) in Tehran, receiving the 2013 Thesis Prize from Mechanical Industrial Festival at SUT. He completed his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2019 in NCL Lab at SUT. He has mainly been focusing on developing energy harvesting nanomaterials for the next-generation photovoltaics (e.g., perovskite and dye-sensitized solar cells) since 2009, during which he has published more than 25 papers in prestigious ISI journals. He is currently working on the fabrication of fully-printed perovskite mini-modules.
Dr. Chen obtained his doctorate degree (Ph.D) in Materials Processing Engineering from Northeastern University, P.R. China. The research areas for Dr. Jun Chen cover the strengthening and toughening mechanism of steels by the combination of physical metallurgy and microstructure characterization, especially focusing on meta-stable steels, precipitation and TEM. Dr. Chen has published 24 SCI papers as the first author, obtained one first class prize for scientific and technology progress of province and ministry, one prize for academic newcomer of State Education Ministry of China, and one second class prize for scientific research innovation award of Rongcheng-Xiangqing.
Dr Changzeng Yan is a Principal Investigator of B1117 Lab, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. His research fields include Designing and fabrication of novel nano-micro materials based photocatalyst for solar energy conversion applications: water splitting, photodegradation, CO2 reduction, and N2 fixation. The strategy is to study new nanomaterials and employ their synergistic effects to enhance energy conversion efficiency. Dr Yan has published more than 30 research articles in distinguished impact factor journals. Besides, Dr Yan is the reviewer for the following journals: ACS Journals, Advanced Functional Materials, Polymers, Advanced Electronic Materials, Nanotechnology, Applied Surface Science, Current Nanoscience, Semiconductor Science and Technology, Construction & Building Materials, Journal of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Nano Future, Materials Research Express, Journal of Inorganic Materials, etc. And he also received “Outstanding Reviewer Awards 2018” from Journal of Nanotechnology from IOP (Institute of Physics) Publishing.
Prof. Jiang GUO is currently a professor at Dalian University of Technology (DUT). He received his Ph.D. from The University of Tokyo in 2013. After graduation, he joined RIKEN as a researcher. In October 2015, he became a scientist in Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). He has been actively involved in precision machining related research for over a decade. He has published more than 50 journal papers and his research work was highlighted in A*STAR Research. He is the session chair for several conferences and the reviewer for over 50 SCI journals.
Haishun Du received his Master’s degree from Tianjin University of Science and Technology in 2017. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Auburn University (AU), and he is going to receive his Ph.D. degree in Polymer and Fiber Engineering in July 2021. Prior to joining AU, he worked as a research assistant at Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His current research focuses on sustainable preparation of cellulose nanomaterials and their nanocomposites, exploring their potential applications in diverse fields such as flexible electronics, energy storage devices, sensors, and biomedicine. He has authored/co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and 8 patents.
