My main research interest is the microalgal bioactives production. Although, microalgae compounds are already used as cosmetic additives, anti-obesity compounds, bio-stimulants or aquafeed additives, actual microalgae wealth goes much beyond. Unique bioactive compounds with significant potential for medical and pharmacological application remain undiscovered and, therefore, unexploited. Besides, I have some experience in other biotechnological fields such as bioremediation ornutrient abatement using both microalgae and bacteria.
