Abstract
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease results in serious life threatening conditions such as heart attack, stroke etc. Hypercholesterolemia is a risk factor; studies show that InsP6 can lower serum cholesterol level. Oxidative damage seems to play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis as well as in heart attack. Studies show that InsP6 by virtue of its antioxidant function can prevent or ameliorate some of the deleterious sequel.
