Abstract
Mobile communication, which is a crucial aspect of daily life, is based on
electromagnetic waves, which transmit not only information but also energy.
Electromagnetic waves can be transmitted wirelessly to facilitate wireless power
transfer for charging vehicle batteries. Wireless charging with electromagnetic waves
does not require the use of a plug point for convenience and safety. The British
scientist Maxwell discovered that electromagnetic waves can be radiated, and such
radiation is a natural phenomenon caused by the interaction between electricity and
magnetism. Moreover, the British Scientist Faraday and French physicist Ampere
found that magnetism generates electricity and that electricity generates magnetism,
respectively. This chapter discusses electromagnetic wave radiation on the basis of
Faraday’s theorem, Ampere’s theorem, and Maxwell’s equation.
