Abstract
Inductors simulated by active circuits, or active inductors, occupy much smaller area on integrated circuits, and for this reason, attracted researchers attention for more than a decade. This paper starts with a general principle and example applications of active inductors, and proceeds to summarize recent active-inductor patents. The emphasis is on transistor-level circuits, capable of operating above several GHz.
