Abstract
Researches about electrochemical DNA biosensors have escalated considerably in recent years due to the health science search for novel efficient devices provide rapid results at low cost. DNA biosensors based on the interaction between drug and DNA have become an important field because they show great advantages over diagnosis and pharmaceutical screening. Electrochemical DNA biosensors denote a new research field with interesting possibilities for practical applications. Electrochemical DNA biosensors combine biological and chemical assays in analytical devices using electroanalytical methods and integrate DNA as the biological recognition element and an electrode as the physicochemical transducer. This review includes some principles of electrochemical DNA biosensors in the field of drug analysis, electrode types that are used in the construction of DNA biosensors, electrochemical methods that are used for analyzing drug active compounds using DNA biosensors, and the validation parameters of these techniques. Moreover, some selected applications of the methods to of pharmaceutical analysis from 2008 to date are also summarized in a table.
Keywords: Electrochemical DNA biosensors, voltammetry, validation, determination, drug analyses.
