Abstract: Fecal incontinence (FI) is a devastating problem for children and adolescents. Patients are broadly classified as having functional (pseudoincontinence) or structural fecal incontinence. This distinction has important implications for management and prognosis. The classification, evaluation and management of children and adolescents with fecal incontinence are reviewed.
