Abstract
The Diels-Alder cycloaddition between a (hetero)diene and a (hetero)dienophile can be performed with metal Lewis Acids. Such activation often increases the rate of the reaction and has an influence on the observed selectivity. The most recent advances on metal promoted Diels-Alder reactions are reviewed.
Keywords: Diels-Alder reaction, catalysis, selectivity, asymmetric synthesis.
