Abstract
A method for the synthesis of new metallodendrimers containing ferrocenyl carboxylic surface- functionalized resorcinaren-PAMAM dendrimers is reported. Dendrimers (G1.0 and G2.0) have been functionalized by covalent bond formation between the amine primary terminals and ferrocenecarboxylic acid by amide bond formation. The molecular structure of the resorcinaren-PAMAM dendrimers and metallodendrimers was characterized by 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy and by elemental analysis. The molecular weights of the compounds were confirmed by MALDI-TOF experiments. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed the presence of metallodendrimers nanoparticles with average size of 27-30 nm with the shapes of the molecules being spherical.

Catalytic C-H bond activation as a tool for functionalization of heterocycles
The major topic is the functionalization of heterocycles through catalyzed C-H bond activation. The strategies based on C-H activation not only provide straightforward formation of C-C or C-X bonds but, more importantly, allow for the avoidance of pre-functionalization of one or two of the cross-coupling partners. The beneficial impact of ...read more
