Abstract
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are ligand-activated transcription factors that regulate lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. In addition, in the last few years it has been highlighted that these receptors play a role in regulating inflammatory processes. Here, we update, in a concise way, the latest advances concerning the antiinflammatory effects of PPARs, previously reported in Current Drug Targets-Inflammation and Allergy, I, 243-248, 2002.
