Abstract
(E)-β-Substituted styrenes were obtained stereoselectively by the titanocene(II)-promoted desulfurizative coupling of thioacetals with styrenes. It is suggested that the reaction proceeds through the regioselective formation of a titanacyclobutane intermediate, followed by ?-elimination.
