Electronic and Crystal Structures
Publishes original research articles, letters, case reports, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to Electronic and Crystal structures. This is a worldwide journal, accepting high-quality papers all over the world.
The Electronic and Crystal Structures section of the journal Current Chinese Science publishes original research articles, letters, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to electronic and crystal structures.
This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub fields in the area. Articles of interdisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. This section deals with the description of the quantum states of the electrons, the arrangement of electrons in an atom, ion, molecule and solid, the band structure and density of states of electrons in solid, the immigration and transportation of electrons in inorganic and organic compounds, and the sub-structure of high energy particles, as well as the ordered arrangement of atoms to form crystal lattice, sub-lattice, clusters, nano particles, small molecules, macromolecules, self-organized assemblies, and solid materials. This journal focuses on the electronic and crystal structures in emerging research fields like single-atom catalysts, energy materials, novel photoelectric functional materials, biomaterials, and macromolecular proteins, as well as the traditional materials such as metals, glasses, ceramics, and organic compounds with significant progresses on understanding long-distance structures, short-distance structures, local structures, dislocation, defects, surface and interface structures. Both experimental and theoretical studies on electronic and crystal structures, the approaches and instruments used to study electronic and crystal structures, and the applications of electronic and crystal structures used to design and prepare new materials and new devices are within the aim and scope of this journal. This journal focuses fundamental researches on electronic and crystal structures, aiming to promote the development of advanced mechanical, thermal, optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic, and bio materials.
Dr. Lei Chen is professor at Hefei University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. from University of Science and Technology of China in 2007 with major in Nuclear Science and Applications. He was engaged in postdoctoral research at National Taiwan University in Taiwan and took visiting-professor at University of Alberta in Canada. His research interests focus on condensed-mater physics, solid- state inorganic chemistry, solid-state luminescence, crystal and electronic structures, synchrotron radiation technology and application, phosphors for light-emitting diodes (LED), and quantum dots display. He has published 65 peer-reviewed papers.
陈雷,合肥工业大学教授、博导。2007年6月于中国科学技术大学获得核科 学与技术专业博士学位,曾在台湾大学从事博士后研究、在加拿大阿尔伯特大 学从事国家公派访问学者研究。主要从事半导体照明与量子点显示研究,精通 发光材料与发光物理,掌握核心技术,拥有自主知识产权,具备在国际一流期 刊发表高水平论文的研究能力,已在 Materials Today、Advanced Science、Chemistry of Materials、Chemical Engineering Journal、Nano Energy等期刊发表SCI论文65篇,总被引用2045次(Google Scholar),单篇最高 引用439次,h指数20;申请发明专利23件、PCT专利4件、实用新型2件,获发明 专利授权8件。主持国家自然科学基金青年、面上与大科学装置联合基金项目, 以项目组副组长(总26人排名第二)与子课题负责人承担国家863计划1项,承担 安徽省科技攻关、安徽省重点研发计划、广东省协同创新等项目。研究论文分 别被ACS Combinatorl Science 和Luminescecne刊登为期刊封面,被 Luminescecne期刊选为Featured article,被Advanced Science期刊选为 Frontispiece。积极开展产学研合作、产业技术转移与成果转化,并取得良好 经济效果。以排名第一分别荣获2020中国轻工业联合会科技进步一等奖和2018 安徽省科技进步二等奖,以排名第六荣获2019广东省科技进步二等奖。
Dr Abul Kalam Azad, presently an Associate Professor in Chemical and Process Engineering, has completed his PhD from Goteborgs Universitet, Sweden in Materials Chemistry. Then he joined Uppsala University, Sweden, as a postdoctoral research fellow. Later, he moved to the University of St Andrews, UK to work with Professor John Irvine on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. His present research interest is on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, Biomass Energy Conversion, Electrolysis and Photocatalyst. He has published more than 150 peer reviewed journal papers.
Dr. Hang Lin received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fuzhou University, and PhD degree from FJIRSM, CAS, in the years of 2005, 2008, 2011, respectively. His research interest focuses on the oriented preparation of luminescent glass ceramic for opto-functional application, and aims to understand the fundamental issues of glass crystallization kinetics, controllable crystal growth of specific nanocrystals in glass, distribution of doping activators, and microstructure-property relationship in glass ceramic. He has published more than 60 articles in reputed journals.
Dr. Qinghua Liu is currently a member of the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his Ph.D. in 2009 from USTC. His current research interests focus on the synthesis and characterizations of advanced energy functional nanomaterials for photocatalytic, electrochemical, and photoelectrochemical applications and the development of advanced in situ/operando synchrotron radiation experimental techniques and their applications in energy storage and reaction mechanisms.
Dr. Faheem K. Butt is currently working as an Associate Professor of Physics at Division of Science and Technology, University of Education Lahore. Before joining University of Education, he was an AvH Fellowship (Alexander von Humboldt Fellow) at Technical University Munich, Germany. It is pertinent to mention that it’s a prestigious fellowship and only won by 105 scientists/social scientists of Pakistan from 1955-2015. He was also associated with teaching at The University of Lahore. He completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials (CSNano), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2015. He completed his Ph.D. studies from Beijing Institute of Technology, China. His interest lies in Optoelectronics devices, Energy storage/conversion in nanomaterials and theoretical studies of materials using various softwares. He has published more than 110 research articles/book chapters as an author/co-author in peer reviewed international SCI journals with an h-index of 26 with ~2500 citations.
Dr. Fang Lei received his Ph.D. degree from Tongji University in 2009. From 2009 to 2011, she has been a postdoctoral in Shanghai Current Chinese Science (Electronic and Crystal structures) Jiaotong University. Then, she joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai University, China. Currently, she is an Associate Researcher in Shanghai University. Her current research interests focus on rare-earth phosphors, phosphor-in-Glass, carbon dots, perovskite nanomaterial for WLEDs.
Dr. Zhi-Jun Zhang completed his Ph.D. degree from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) in 2009. He was an associate professor in Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2012 to 2014. Presently, he is a full-time professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai University. His main research interests include the preparation and application of inorganic optical functional materials including scintillation luminescent materials, spectral conversion materials, luminescent materials for high-power laser lighting and display, stress-induced emitting materials and related devices. He has published almost one hundred and thirty five research papers and his documents have citations over more than 1840.
Dr. Haohong Chen received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Chinese Academy of Science in 2013. After his Masters from Xiamen University, he joined Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Science in 2003. Presently, he works as an associate professor in Transparent Ceramics Research Center. His main research includes crystallography, optoelectronic functional materials including laser materials, scintillators and phosphors for LD/LEDs. He has published four books and more than 100 SCI papers about novel compounds, interesting defect structures and important mechanisms on advanced material properties.
Dr. Chun Jiang received his MS and PhD degrees from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996 and 1999, respectively. From 1999 till present, he worked as postdoctoral research fellow, an associate professor and professor in State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He was a visiting scholar at the Research Laboratory of Electronics at MIT from 2005-2006. His research topics focus on photonic materials & devices, optical fiber communication, nanophotonics and optical signal processing. He is the author/co-author of over 150 journal articles, and holds 10 issued Chinese patents.
Dr. Hongwei Song is a professor at the Jilin University, China. He has published more than 340 papers in international journals and two book chapters. His current research interests focus on rare earth doped upconversion nanophosphors, its local field modulation and application; photo/electric luminescence of perovskite nanocrystals; perovskite solar cells and perovskite photoelectric detectors.
Dr. Hassanien is a Professor at the Engineering Mathematics and Physics Department, Faculty of Engineering (Shoubra), Benha University, Egypt. His research interests are in the fields of structural, physical, optical,electrical, and thermal properties. Dr. Hassanien is an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal Futuristic Research Evaluation in Engineering (IJFREE).He is an outstanding reviewer of many journals that are classified as Q1, Q2, and Q3.
Dr. Jiarui He is a postdoctoral fellow in the Texas Materials Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his B.E. (2012) and his PhD (2018) in electronic information materials and devices from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His research interests are in the area of electrochemical conversion and storage materials.
Dr. Fozia Z. Haque received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from DDU Gorakhpur University in 2007. She has been a Junior Research Fellow at the, JMI New Delhi in 2004, then an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology MANIT (An Institute of National Importance), Bhopal, India. Her research interests include morphological control of nanostructured oxides, solar cell, photocatalytic, gas sensing, LED & UV-shielding materials, etc. She has published over 170 research papers in various journals of international repute and 1 book & 3 book chapters with reputed publishers. She has guided 10 PhD Thesis and 55 M.Tech.(Nanotechnology) dissertation thesis. She is a Fellow of Researchers Society of Chemical Science (FRSCS). She has been a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), Society for Applied Spectroscopy, Optical Society of India, Society for Information Display, USA, Indian association of Physics Teacher, India etc. She has delivered 14 expert lectures at different National/International platforms.
Presently, Dr. Anil Ohlan is employed as an Assistant Professor of Physics at M.D. University Rohtak. He is working in the field of Material Science exploring nanostructured materials for potential applications such as supercapacitors, electromagnetic shielding, microwave absorption, magneto-electric coupling. Dr. Ohlan received his Ph.D. on electromagnetic shielding properties in conjugated polymer ferromagnetic nanocomposites in collaboration with National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and University of Delhi, Delhi. During the course of his research Dr. Ohlan has been involved in the designing and development of conjugated polymer nanocomposites, multiferroic composites, mesoporous composites, 2D materials especially graphene for different applications. His research credentials are reflected in 3 book chapters, over 30 peer-review articles in reputed journals and one US patent in the area of nanostructured materials.
Dr. Shu YIN received a Ph.D. degree in applied chemistry from Tohoku University in 1999. He has been a research assistant at the Institute for Chemical Reaction Science (ICRS) in 1999, then a lecture and associate professor at the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Tohoku University in 2005. He became a full-time professor in 2016. His research interests include morphological control of nanostructured oxides / nitrides, photocatalytic materials, UV/IR-shielding materials, gas sensing materials, hydrothermal / solvothermal process, soft chemical synthesis etc.
Dr. Y.P. Du is currently a full professor at the school of material science and engineering, Nankai University. He is the Director of Tianjin Key Lab for Rare Earth Materials and Applications, Deputy Director of Center for Rare Earth and Inorganic Functional Materials of Nankai University. His research interests include rare earth materials and their application in catalysts, biological imaging, energy conversion and storage. He has published more than 120 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and was a winner of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars in 2015. He obtained his PhD degree from Peking University in 2009.
Dr. Chongfeng Guo is a Professor at the School of Physics, Northwest University. He received Ph.D degree in 2004 from Sun Yat-Sen University. He has been a Research Fellow, associate professor, research professor and visiting professor at the Hongkong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technoloy, Pukyong National University of Korea, Macquarie University in Australia. His research focused on the luminescent inorganic solids with a multi- disciplinary background covering phosphor, photo-catalyst, biological sensing/imaging/therapy materials, first-principle calculation and optoelectronic device. Within his group three lines of research can be distinguished: (1) Rare earth doped luminescent materials. This research focuses on the design of inorganic phosphors for white LEDs, especially for plant growth LEDs. (2) Semiconductor hetero- junction for photo-catalyst. (3) First principle calculation. He has published more than 150 articles.
Prof. Jinlian Hu is a renowned expert in shape memory textiles and has been leading a number of large scale research projects in related areas. She is a partner and consultant to a large number of companies and organizations including Procter & Gamble and INVISTA for consecutive projects. She achieved several awards. For examples, 1000- Person Scheme Award from China, Distinguished Achievement Award in Basic or Applied Fiber Science by The Fiber Society and First-Class Prize, Sang Ma Textile Science and Technology Award by the Hong Kong Sang Ma Trust Fund.
Dr Li-Feng Zhu is an Associate Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing. He received his PhD degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China, in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing. His research interests include energy storage capacitors, piezoelectric ceramics, and Ferroelectric photovoltaic. He has published more than 30 research papers.
Dr. Haiwu Zheng received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2006. Then, he joined the School of Physics and Electronics, Henan University. Currently, he is a full-time professor at School of Physics and Electronics, Henan University. He also honored as a distinguished professor of Henan Province since Feb. 2020. His current research interests mainly include nanogenerators, hybrid energy-harvesting devices, smart sensors systems and polarization-tuned photovoltaic effects of novel ferroelectric/piezoelectric heterojunctions.
Dr. Şükrü Karataş obtained his master degree in Solid State Physics from Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, 1994–1996, PhD from Solid State Physics, Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey, 1998–2003. He was an Associate Professor of Solid State Physics at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, 2010. His main achievements are—(A) semiconductors (polymers, monomers, organic compounds): (i) electrical, dielectrical, thermal and optical properties; (ii) electronic devices applications such as Schottky diode, P–N heterojunction diode, metal–insulator–semiconductor junctions, solar cells, photodiode, optical sensor; (iii) current injection in solids, (high-field conduction, spacecharge limited current, Poole-Frenkel and Schottky conductivity mechanisms). (B) Optical materials: (i) determination of the optical constants; (ii) refractive index dispersion. (C) Liquid crystals and electro-optical properties. His current research interests include organic thin films, SAM-LB films, thin-film interfaces, and their application to electronic devices such as organic photovoltaics, OLEDs, OTFTs, nano-wires and sensors. Dr. Şükrü KARATAŞ is working as a Professor in Kahramanmaraş Sütçü Imam University in Kahramanmaraş. He is working as a researcher and a teacher in this university.
Dr. Quah Hock Jin is currently working as a senior lecturer at the Institute of Nano Optoelectronics Research and Technology (INOR), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He received his BEng (Hons) in Materials Engineering from USM in 2008. He graduated with PhD (2014) and MSc (2010) in Electronics Materials from USM under the sponsorship of “The USM Vice Chancellor’s Award 2011” and “USM Fellowship”, respectively. He was previously a post-doctoral fellow in USM and Universiti Putra Malaysia. His research interest encompasses development of thin film technology and optimization of device performance based on high dielectric constant thin film materials as well as wide band gap semiconductors for potential applications in power electronics, solid-state lighting, and gas sensors.
Dr. Ambrish Kumar Srivastava is currently an Assistant Professor of Physics in D.D.U. Gorakhpur University, India. He obtained his Ph.D. from University of Lucknow, India and subsequently, worked as National Postdoctoral Fellow at D.D.U. Gorakhpur University. His broad research areas include Computational Materials Science and Computational Biophysics, with a special emphasis on Atomic, Superatomic and Nano Clusters. He has published over 100 research papers in various journals of international repute. Dr. Srivastava is an active reviewer for various journals and serves on the editorial board of a few as well.
Dr Shijun Zhao received PhD in Engineering from the Peking University, China in 2013. He did his Bachelor in Physics from Peking University, China in 2008. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the City University of Hong Kong, China. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA and Peking University, China in 2018 and 2015 respectively. He has published more than 50 articles in well-reputed journals.
Dr Xicheng Wang is a Lecturer at the School of Physical Science and Technology, Lanzhou University. He received his B.S. degree from the Lanzhou University in 2011 and completed his PhD degree from the Lanzhou University in 2017. His main research interests are focused on the synthesis, performance tuning of inorganic luminescent materials for solid-state lighting and displays.
Dr. Zubair Ahmad is leading the “Materials for Energy and Sustainable Environment, MESE” research group at Center for Advanced Materials (CAM), Qatar University, Doha, Qatar. He received his M.S. degree (Engineering Sciences) in 2008 from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan, and PhD degree (Applied Physics) in 2011 from the same institute. He has over five years of research experience at Mechatronic Research Group, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Auckland New Zealand, INHA University South Korea, and the University of Malaya before joining Qatar University. His area of research includes photovoltaic, sensors, and sustainable energy materials.
Dr. Chunru Wang is a Professor at ICCAS. He received his PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from Dalian Institute of Chemistry Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1992. His research interests include fullerenes and endohedral fullerenes, mainly focusing on their industrialization and applications. He discovered the metal carbide fullerenes for the first time, researched on high-efficiency MRI contrast agents and developed a novel tumour vascular-targeting therapy technique using gadofullerenes. He has collected a couple of prizes and awards, such as the “CAS hundred Talents”, “National Distinguished Scholars in the New Century” etc. He is the author of more than 240 papers published in international refereed journals, 6 book chapters, and co-edited 1 book which was published by World Scientific Press.
Dr. Jie Lu received a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering from Tianjin University, China. Currently, he is a Professor at the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences, the Director at the Institute of Modern Separation Engineering & Technology and Subjects of Chemical & Pharmaceutical Engineering. He is an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Chemical Research and Application, a Reviewer of Chinese and International Journals, including JMCB, Crystal Growth & Design, Journal of Crystal Growth, Journal of Chemical Engineering Data, etc. and Member of ACS. His research interests include Crystallization of protein and pharmaceutical molecules, Environmental resources technology, and Functional nanomaterials for medical, separation, synthesis applications. Moreover, he has published more than 50 scientific papers in well-reputed peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, India. He received his PhD in Applied Physics from the Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh, India in 2003. His research interests include Materials Science, Condensed Matter Physics, Nanotechnology, Ion Beam Engineering of Nanostructure Materials, Radiation Physics and Chemistry of Materials, Synthesis of Nanomaterials/Nano Templates/ Graphene Oxide/RGO/ Nanocomposites/ Polymers/Nanocomposite Polymers, Oxide Based Thin Films (ZrO2, TiO2, SnO2, WO3, MoS2 CeO2 etc.) using RF Sputtering, E-Beam, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), PLD, Template-Based Electro Deposition of Metal and Semiconductor Nanowires, Energy Storage Devices (Lithium-ion battery and Supercapacitor), Gas Sensors/Nano Filters for Gas Purification, and Nuclear Spectroscopy (PALS & DBS, HPGe, NaI etc.). He has published around 120 research papers in well-reputed international journals. Besides, he has also presented in different conferences on a national and international level.
Ahmad M. Mohammad received his B.Sc. in 1995 from the Faculty of Science at Cairo University (Chemistry major). He was awarded his M.Sc. (Physical Chemistry-Surface Chemistry) and Ph.D. (Physical Chemistry-Nanotechnology) from Cairo University, respectively in 1999 and 2004. In 2001, he joined the Pennsylvania State University as a research assistant for two years. In 2005, he joined Tokyo Institute of Technology as a research fellow and collaborated over there with Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd for two years. He worked (in a sabbatical leave) for the British University in Egypt (Egypt/ Associate Professor/ 2011-2015), American University in Cairo (Egypt/Professor/2019) and Higher Technological Institute (Egypt/Professor/2019). Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at Cairo University. His main research deals with the fabrication of hybrid nanomaterials for water treatment and energy conversions. He published so far 72 articles in reputable international journals, participated in 94 conferences and owned several recognitions and awards.
Dr. Wangsheng is currently an Associate Professor of National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his B.S. degree and Ph.D from the Department of Physics of USTC in the year of 2001 and 2007, respectively. In June 2012, he joined USTC as an associate professor, working on synchrotron-based X-ray spectroscopy on energy related materials. He has more than 160 publications.
Dr Zhonglin Du is presently serving as an Associate Professor at the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Qingdao University. He obtained a PhD degree from East China University of Science and Technology, China in 2017. His research interest includes (i) main field: Synthesis of semiconductor (alloyed, core-shell and doped quantum dots etc.), metallic (Au, Ag) nanocrystals; formation of nanocrystal-based micro- and nanostructures and study of optical phenomena therein; (ii) other fields: Application of the nanocrystals in energy conversion.
Dr. Shulan Ma is currently a Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Beijing Normal University. She received her PhD degree from Beijing normal university in 2000-2003. She has worked as a visiting professor in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University from 2012 to 2014. She has published many top papers such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem. Mater.; Adv. Funct. Mater.; ACS Appl. Mater. Interface; Chem. Commun.; J. Mater. Chem. A; J. Mater. Chem. C; Inorg. Chem. Her field of interest focuses on nanotechnology.
Dr. Lining Sun is a professor of Chemistry and Material Science at Shanghai University. She received her B.S. degree from Shandong Normal University in 2002 and Ph.D. degree from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in the end of 2007. Then, from 2008 to 2009, she has been an Alexander-von-Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Regensburg, Germany. Her research focuses on rare-earth doped upconversion luminescent nanomaterials for sensing, bioimaging, and therapy applications.
Dr. Guobao Li has graduated from Department of Material Science and Engineering, University of Technology and Science of China in 1990.7 and the Doctorate degree in lithium ion battery under the supervisor of Prof. Liquan Chen in 1995.7. He became a faculty of Institute of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University after 1995.7. His study is focused on the functional oxides: synthesis, structure, magnetism, and superconductivity. He has published more than 120 articles in reputed journals.
Dr. Wei-Ren Liu is a Director of Center of Resource Development in Chung Yuan Christian University and an Associate Professor in Department of Chemical Engineering, Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan. His expertise deals with inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry and nano-technology, applied to the fields of Li-ion batteries, Ni-ion batteries, Graphene, carbon quantum dots, in collaboration with several industrial companies. Recently, he won outstanding professor in Chung Yuan Christian University in 2016 and outstanding professor prize of LCY’s Group in 2017. He is co-inventor of >30 patents and co-author of more than 99 articles.
Professor Yuhua Wang has been a full-time professor at Lanzhou University from 2004, and he has received the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation in 2009. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). He has authored more than 300 original research papers and 20 patents. The research interests of Prof. Yuhua Wang are engaged to the discovery, development and application of novel functional materials based on rare earth ions doped oxides, nitrides and oxynitrides, which include long-afterglow luminescent materials, LED phosphor, quantum dot, up- conversion luminescent nano-materials, photocatalysis materials and flame-resistant materials.
Professor Shizhong Wei works at Henan University of Science and Technology as the vice president. His interests mainly focus on the synthesis, structural analysis and properties of wear- resistant alloys, and structural and functional materials. The research findings have been widely published in international journals, such as Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Materials Science and Engineering A, and Tribology International. Based on the extensive industrial applications of his findings, he was awarded twice as the first contributor by the the government of China, namely National Science and Technology Prize (the second-class prize).
Dr. Jiehe Sui is a Full Professor at the Department of Materials Physics and Chemistry, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He received his PH.D in 2006 from Harbin Institute of Technology. His research interests include Thermoelectric Materials, Shape Memory Materials, Nano-functional Materials, Martensite Transformation, Surface Modification. He has more than 170 publications in reputed journals. He was awarded "The First Prize for Natural Science Award of Heilongjiang Province" in 2007.
Professor Zhiguo Xia focuses on the luminescent inorganic solids with a multi- disciplinary background covering luminescent materials, solid-state chemistry, crystal chemistry, X-ray diffraction, optics, and optoelectronic device. He is currently a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology. He complleted his PHD n 2008 from Tsinghua University.Within his group two lines of research can be distinguished: (1) Rare earth doped luminescent materials. This research focuses on structural design, discovery and understanding the structure/luminescence correlation of inorganic phosphors for white LEDs. (2) Optical properties of perovskite materials (nanocrystals and single crystals), where he focuses on the discovery of the new perovskite-type materials (especially the 0 D and 2D semiconductors and lead-free double perovskites), understanding the intrinsic optical properties and doping-induced luminescence behaviour. He has published more than 300 articles.
Dr Vladimir Shevchenko graduated from the Faculty of Physics, Moscow University (1963). He received a PhD degree in Physics Science in 1969. Dr Shevchenko is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (1987). Currently, he is the President of Russian Ceramic Society, the President of National Commission on Glass RAS, a member of the Council of the International Commission on Glass, and a member of the Permanent Executive Committee of the European Ceramic Society. Also, he is a member of the Presidium of St. Petersburg Scientific Center of RAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council on ceramics and other non-metallic materials of RAS, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal ‘Glass Physics and Chemistry,’ and Editorial Board Member of the journal, ‘Ceramic Science and Technology.’
Dr. Sumanta Sahoo is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the department of Chemistry at Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Andhra Pradesh, India. He received his PhD in Materials Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in the year of 2013. His research interests include materials chemistry, graphene materials for supercapacitor application, binary and ternary metal oxide-based nanocomposites for energy-related applications including Li-ion batteries, synthesis and characterization of mixed transition metal oxides etc. He has published around 50 research papers in reputed international journals. Apart from these, Dr. Sahoo also recently edited a book entitled “Surface Engineering of Graphene” with Springer Nature publishers. Moreover, Dr. Sahoo is an active reviewer for a range of journals and serves as consulting editor of a journal.
Dr. Ezzat Khan Completed his PhD degree in the field of Inorganic/Organometallic Chemistry in 2009 under the Supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernd Wrackmeyer (late), University of Bayreuth, Bayreuth, Germany. He joined University of Malakand as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor on Feb. 12, 2018 and to the rank of Professor since January 10, 2020. He is well versed in arranging funds for his research group. He has been awarded Research Productivity Award (RPA) Five times by Pakistan Council of Science and Technology. His research group comprises PhD, MPhil/MS and BS students. The main focus of his research is Synthesis of Organometallic/Coordination compounds and their potential applications in the field of Bio-inorganic chemistry. He has also contributed to environmental chemistry and has produced several publications focusing the modern environmental challenges. Besides research, he is involved in teaching at master and MPhil/PhD level and has accepted and performed various administrative responsibilities.
Prof. Dr. Hamdy F. M. Mohamed is a Professor of Applied Physics and Renewable Energy. He graduated from Minia University, and received MSc and PhD from the same university. He has worked as a senior researcher in Japan (Tokyo University and AIST), USA (Wayne State University), and South Korea (KAERI). He received several awards, including the best researcher from Minia University for many years. He has published more than 100 publications and has reviewed a lot of international publications on many Journals. He is a member in many national and international associations. He is studying polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cells as a bulk and thin films using many techniques.
Prof. Dr. Yuanfu Chen obtained his PhD degree in Materials Science from Sichuan University, China in June 2001. Afterwards, he continued his research as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Science from July 2001 to January 2005, and Taiwan Tsing Hua University from July 2003 to Jan 2005. He worked as a Research Scientist at the University of Leipzig, Germany during March 2005 to February 2007, and then worked as a guest scientist in IFW Dresden, Germany since March 2007. He has been serving as a Full Professor at the University of Electronic Science and technology of China (UESTC) since 2008. His scientific interests include design and synthesis of new nanostructured materials for applications in catalysis, energy storage and electronics. Prof. Chen has published over 180 papers in Energy Environ Sci, Adv Mater, Adv Energ Mater, ACS Nano, ACS Energ Lett, 2D Materials etc., including 4 and 18 ESI hot and highly cited papers.
Dr. Tzong-Liu Wang currently is a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and has served as Dean of the College of Engineering at National University of Kaohsiung. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from National Tsing- Hua University and Ph.D. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Utah. Dr. Wang joined National University of Kaohsiung in 2004. Dr. Wang’s current research interests include polymer solar cells, organic/inorganic nanohybrids, organic & inorganic optoelectronic materials, functional polyurethanes, and synthesis and characterization of functional polymers.
Dr. Zhao Wei has been engaged in the preparation, characterization and application of environmental functional materials. He has won many honors including “Hong Kong Scholars”program, “Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Jiangsu Province”, and “Excellent Master's Degree Thesis of Anhui Province”. In recent years, he has been engaged in the preparation of silver series and bismuth based environmental functional materials and the research in the field of environmental pollutants treatment. Dr. Wei has published more than 30 SCI papers in international journals such as applied catalysis B: environmental, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Journal of hazardous materials, etc.
Dr. Kang Zheng received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicinal Chemistry from the Ocean University of China, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He is currently working at the Shandong University of Technology. His research interest lies in the structural, experimental, and theoretical studies of pharmaceutical solids as well as functional materials. By using multidisciplinary approaches including computational medicinal chemistry and machine learning, novel pharmaceutical dosage forms were generated to address clinical and industrial challenges.
Dr. Indra Neel Pulidindi is currently working on Carbon fiber reinforced composites as a postdoctoral researcher in the research group of Professor Xinling Wang at SJTU in Shanghai. He was recipient of the advanced brain pool fellowship and worked as visiting scientist in the laboratory of Professor Tae Huyn Kim at Hanyang University, Korea from 2016-2017. He has worked as postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Aharon Gedanken at Bar-Ilan University, Israel from 2010 to 2016. He obtained Ph.D., degree from IIT Madras, India, in 2010.
Dr. Heshmat Allah Samimi obtained a Master degree in chemistry in 2002 from Isfahan University of Technology. He further continued his studies at Guilan University under the supervision of Prof. Mamaghani , starting in 2009. He has been working as an Assistant and Associate Professor at Shahrekord University since 2008. His favorite field is Heterocyclic Compounds and Ring Expansion and Ring Opening of Aziridines as well as natural products.
Dr. Muzamal Hussain received his PhD degree in Computational Mathematics from GC University Faisalabad in 2019. His main research areas include Computational Mathematics, Vibration of Rotating Functionally Graded Cylindrical Shell with Various Volume Fraction Laws and Vibration Analysis of Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes based on Different Theories using Wave Propagation Approach. He has published almost 39 research papers and many book chapters in International Impact Factor Journals and his documents have total citations of 643.
Dr. Jianan Zhang is an associate professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Anhui University, Chins. He completed his PhD studies at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He stayed at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, for 2 and half years as a visiting scholar. Dr. Zhang has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. His research focuses on fabrication and polymerization mechanism investigation of polymer nanocomposites by controlled radical polymerization, self-assembly of polymeric materials, and complex materials of different architectures based on synthetic polymers and biomaterials.
Dr. Imtiyaz Yousuf is an assistant professor at the Department Of Chemistry, A.M.U, Aligarh since 2015. His research interests include the design and synthesis of novel metal- based chemotherapeutic agents and their interaction studies with potential biological targets including nucleic acids, enzymes and proteins. His recent interests include design and syntheses of Targeted Ru(II)-arene anticancer complexes with high antitumor efficacy and lower systemic toxicity. He has participated in many national and international conferences to present his research work. He has published many papers in international journals of high repute and also contributed book chapters in the field of metallodrugs. He is also serving as a reviewer and an editorial board member for many journals of internal repute.
Dr. Sarath Chandran currently serves as an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus. He obtained his Ph. D. in 2016 from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. During his doctoral thesis, he worked in collaboration with University de Strasbourg- France, Universiti Teknologi MARA- Malaysia, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. His areas of research expertise include Polymer Blends and Nanocomposites, Polymer Crystallization, carbon aerogels, silica aerogels, batteries and supercapacitors, hydrogen storage devices, green energy harvesting, Thermal Protection Systems, Electrospinning, bio polymers and biomedical polymers, electrospinning, and polymer coatings . He has published 17 research papers in international journals, 6 book chapters, and 7 books to his credit.
Dr. Sushmita Banerjee currently works as an Assistant Professor at the School of Basic Sciences and Research, Sharda University, India. She obtained her D.Phil. (2016) from the University of Allahabad, and Post-Doc (2016-2018) from Indian Institute of Technology-(BHU), Varanasi, India. Her current research work is focused on the synthesis and application of sustainable, low cost and competent materials that could efficiently decontaminate toxic pollutants from water and wastewater. She has extensive experience in the areas of environmental chemistry, renewable energy, wastewater treatment, and biofuel synthesis. She had published more than 42 research papers and six book chapters which have attracted over 2908 citations (2013-2020).
Dr. A. Siva received his M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees from Gandhigram Rural University, Dindigul, in 1999 and 2006 respectively. He then worked as an Associate Scientific Manager at Syngene International Pvt Ltd, A Biocon Company, Bangalore, from 2015 to 2017. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) South Korea, under the guidance of Prof. Taiho Park. He joined as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, School of Chemistry, Madurai Kamaraj University, and Madurai in 2010. He published more than 90 research articles and completed 6 major research projects. He has guided 13 Ph.D and 18 M.Phil students. He received many awards including the Brain of Korea fellowship (2007), Young Scientist award (2012) and Best research award from Madurai Kamaraj University during the year of 2017. His research interest includes asymmetric synthesis, organometallic chemistry, supramolecular Chemistry, chemosensor and Dye sensitized solar cells.
Received the B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree in Physics from Mangalore University , Karnataka India in 1995 and 1997, respectively, and Ph.D. in Physics (Liquid crystals) from Centre for Nano and Soft matter Science (formerly known as center for liquid crystal research) , Bangalore, India. She did her Postdoc. under IRCSET fellowship at Trinity college, Dublin , Ireland. Her research interests focus on soft matter and nano science. She has published more than 30 publications in referred journals.
Dr. El-Gendy has been working in the field of magnetic nanoparticles for 18 years. His work interests focus on synthesis and optimization of soft and hard magnetic nanomaterials using chemical and physical methods to be used for various types of applications such as hyperthermia treatment for cancer, drug delivery, contrast agent for MRI, rare‐earth free permanent magnets, data storage, and magneto‐ caloric for refrigeration technology. He has published more than 70 high impact scientific papers in peer-review journals and book chapters. He is a reviewer and editor for numerous high ranked scientific journals.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Das is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the department of Chemistry at Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Andhra Pradesh, India. r. Afzal Hussain is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He completed his PhD in Chemistry at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India in 2010. Having been admitted as a Member to the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) in 2018, he has ten years of experience in teaching and research. His areas of research include separation sciences, bioanalysis, drug analysis, cosmeceutical analysis, nutraceutical analysis, and synthesis of novel nanomaterials as drug delivery carriers. Dr Radwa Abass Mostafa El-Salamony received a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the Chemistry Department, Factuality of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor in preparation of nano-catalysts and its application in water treatment and energy production at the Reactor Engineering and Operations - Process Design and Development Department Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI), Cairo – Egypt. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in well-reputed international journals and also has presented her work in several conferences. Dr El-Salamony is also a reviewer and an editorial board member of some well-known international journals.
Dr. Rizwan Ur Rehman Sagar completed his MSc (2005–2008) degree in Physics from University of Sargodha, Pakistan, MPhil (2008–2010) degree in Physics from COMSATS University Pakistan, PhD (2010–2015) degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Dr. I. Vetha Potheher received his BSc Physics from Bharathidasan University Tiruchirappalli, MSc Physics from Madurai Kamaraj University and PhD degree from Madras University, Chennai, India. He has acquired expertise in developing the single crystals for frequency conversion and phase matching applications and nano materials for energy and environmental applications. In his research career, he has published 56 research articles in peer reviewed journals and one book related to his research area. He has guided 5 PhD scholars and 5 MTech students and is presently guiding 2 PhD scholars. Dr. Zhengran He received his B.S. degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2009, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama in 2014. His current research interests include high performance organic thin film transistor, organic electronic devices, thin film processing of organic semiconductors and organic polymers.
Dr. Tanja V. Soldatović is an Associate professor at the Department of Chemical-Technological Sciences at State University of Novi Pazar. Her research fields are bioinorganic and medicinal inorganic chemistry (studies related to the biological activity and medical application of transition metal anti-tumor complexes), solution chemistry and coordination chemistry, mechanism of the substitution reactions with biologically relevant ligands. Dr. Tanja V. Soldatović is member of professional societies: Serbian Chemical Society, Association for Cancer Research (Serbia) and The European Association of Cancer Research. Currently she is head of the Department of Chemical-Technological Sciences at the State University of Novi Pazar.
Dr. Renheng Wang received his Ph.D. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Central South University (CSU) in 2015. From January 2016 to October 2018, he worked as a postdoctoral follow at Shenzhen University and Nanyang Technological University. He is now a researcher in the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University. His research focuses on the synthesis and application of nanomaterials and composites for clean energy storage, such as high-power/high-energy lithium ion batteries.
