Prof. Chen, PhD in Biomathematics, is Director, the Computational Image Analysis Program, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute (BAI); Director of data management & statistical core, Arizona Alzheimer’s disease core center, National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center. He also holds adjunct professorships at Beijing Normal University, Arizona State University and University of Arizona. Using and developing neuroimaging analytic/statistical techniques, his research interests include the tracer kinetic modeling, brain volume, functional connectivity changes, and multi-modal data integration for the studies of human brain functions and Alzheimer’s disease. Prof. Wu’s current research interests are ergonomics, cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging. He is the author of two books, Complex Medical Engineering and Modern Human Factors Engineering. He has published about 250 refereed journal and conference papers. Dr. Wu was the general Chairman of the International Conference on Complex Medical Engineering. He received the Best Paper Award of IEEE Joint International Conference on Neural Network in 1993, SICE in 2000, and the Best Paper Award of IEEE/ICME International Conference on Complex Medical Engineering in 2009.
Dr. Hidenao Fukuyama is now at the Professor of Research and Education Unit of Leaders for Integrated Medical System, and until 2015, at the position of the Professor and director, Human Brain Research Center, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine.
Main works has been directed to the imaging of Neurological disorders, particularly, cerebrovascular disorders, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Hallett is the Chief of the Human Motor Control Section, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, Bethesda, Maryland. He is past President of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the Movement Disorder Society, past Vice-President of the American Academy of Neurology, and is now President of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology. His work mainly deals with principles of motor control and the pathophysiology of movement disorders.
Dr. Yang’s Ph.D. was obtained at the Intelligent Mechanical System Engineering Department, at Kagawa University, Japan (2009). In 2009, he joined the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University, as a postdoc fellow, and in 2010 became an assistant professor. His current research interests include cognitive and psychological neuroscience, neuroimaging, early detection of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) with tactile and kinetic approach. He has published more than 90 refereed journal, conference papers and book chapters.
Dr. Nitsche is Scientific Director of the Department of Psychology and Neurosciences at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors in Dortmund, Germany. He is furthermore staff member at the Dept. Neurology of the University Medical Hospital Bergmannsheil, Bochum, adjunct member of the psychological faculty oft he University of Bochum, and Member oft he International Graduate School for Neurosciences at Bochum University. Previously, he worked as neurologist at the University Medical Hospital Goettingen, Dept. Clinical Neurophysiology. His main research interest is focused on cognitive neuroscience, and non-invasive brain stimulation approaches in humans.
Since December 1999, Dr. Tobimatsu has been Professor and Chairman, Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Neurological Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University. From August 2006 to December 2014, he was a Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Kyushu University. Since November 2013, he has been a president of the Japanese Society of Clinical Neurophyiology. His current research interests are higher brain functions and cognitive neuroscience in humans, using non-invasive methods such as EEG, ERP, and MEG. Dr. Tobimatsu has authored more than 140 manuscripts.
Professor Abraham Zangen is the head of the brain stimulation and behavior lab in Ben-Gurion University in Israel. His research is directed to identification and treatment of altered neuroplasticity in psychiatric disorders, using brain stimulation techniques in both animal models and humans. He has developed unique coils allowing transcranial magnetic stimulation of deep brain regions, which are widely used for research and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. Prof. Zangen has published over 120 peer reviewed articles, reviews and book chapters, and was rewarded with numerous personal prizes for his scientific achievements including the Medical Futures Innovation Award in London and the Juludan Prize in Israel.
Dr. Lei is a principal investigator in Engineering Research Center of Digital Hospital System of State Ministry of Education, Peking University, China. He holds a B.Sc degree from Peking University and a Ph.D degree from University of Limerick. His research areas include behavoural modeling, signal processing, image processing, and device development in biomedical engineering and telecommunications. Dr. Lei has published 20s peer-reviewed papers and 4 book chapters, and he took 7 funding projects from Chinese Ministries, institutes, and companies. Dr. Lei also serves as an academic committee member in CSIP public platform, State Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China.
Dr. Koji Abe is 60 years old man, and is currently Professor and Chairman of Neurology at Okayama University Medical School in Japan. He graduated Tohoku University School of Medicine (M.D.), and then got Ph.D. title from Tohoku University. Professor Koji Abe has been publishing more than 600 papers on neurology and neuroscience fields including neurobioengineering. His research interests cover many important fields of neurology especially in the mechanism of ischemic brain damage, gene and stem cell therapy, neuroprotection, and neuroimaging. He is the past president of the International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism (CBFM), and organized World CBFM meeting in Osaka in 2007 and Japan-Asia CBFM meeting Okayama city in 2014. He organized ICME (International Complex Medicine and Engineering) on 2015 in Okayama city.
Dr. Dutta is Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and the Director of Neuroengineering and Informatics for Rehabilitation laboratory at the University at Buffalo SUNY, USA. He has more than 14 years’ experience in bringing neuromodulation devices from bench to beside. Dr. Dutta holds a PhD in Biomedical/Neural Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, USA and a Master of Science in Cerebrovascular Medicine from Charite, Berlin, Germany. He is a recipient of Alexander von Humboldt post-doctoral fellowship at the Universitätsmedizin Göttingen, Germany, and led design & development of neurobiological instrumentation at HHMI's Janelia Farm Research Campus, USA; INRIA, France, and Leibniz Research Centre, Germany.
Prof Dimitrios I. Fotiadis (M)is currently a Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Ioannina, Ioannina, Greece, and Director of the Unit of Medical Technology and Intelligent Information Systems. He is an Affiliated Member of Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Dept. of Biomedical Research. He has coordinated and participated in more than 200 R&D funded projects. He is a senior member of IEEE, member of IEEE Technical Committee of information Technology in Healthcare and the Editor in Chief of IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, receiving editor for the Biomedical Signal Processing and Control Journal, Associate Editor for Computers in Biology and Medicine and Editorial Board Member in Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering. His research interests include multiscale modeling of human tissues and organs, intelligent wearable/implantable devices for automated diagnosis, processing of big medical data, sensor informatics, image informatics, and bioinformatics.
Dr. Guo is a Full Professor at the Department of Intelligent Mechanical System Engineering, Kagawa University, Takamatsu, Japan, since 2005. He has published about 470 refereed journal and conference papers. His current research interests include biomimetic underwater robots and medical robot systems for minimal invasive surgery, micro catheter system, micropump, and smart material (SMA, IPMC) based on actuators. He is Editor in chief for International Journal of Mechatronics and Automation, He is also the Founding Chair of IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation.
Dr. Hamid GholamHosseini is Associate Professor, Auckland University of Technology (AUT). He has more than 20 years of experience in the research and development of Biomedical and Electrical Engineering as applied to healthcare, patient monitoring and diagnosis.
His research has comprised of more than 120 refereed publications. Previously, he served as the program leader of Biotronic Engineering at AUT developing curriculum for this program. Dr. GholamHosseini is also a visiting professor at Embedded Sensor Systems for Health (E-SSH), Mälardalen University and leading a research project on “Vital Signs Monitoring and Decision Support Systems".
Qiang Huang, IEEE Fellow, a professor in Beijing Institute of Technology. He received PhD degree from the Waseda University, Japan. He was appointed the Chung Kong Scholar Professorship of the Ministry of Education of China, and was granted Distinguished Young Scholar of the National Science Foundation of China. He is also the associate editor of some International Journals, such as Advanced Robotics and Social Robotics.
His research interests include humanoid robots, medical robot and micro/nano robot. And the five generation humanoid robots he developed has reached international advanced level. In recent decade, he has published more than 200 journal and conference papers, such as the IEEE Transaction on Robotics. More than 150 of these papers were catalogued by SCI/EI. He has received best paper rewards for 5 times. More than 70 patents were applied and about 40 were granted.
Yo-Ping Huang received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, USA. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), Taiwan. He also serves as President of Taiwan Association of Systems Science and Engineering, and Chair of IEEE SMC Taipei Chapter. He was the secretary general at NTUT, Chair of IEEE CIS Taipei Chapter and CEO of Joint Commission of Technological and Vocational College Admission Committee in Taiwan. He was professor and Dean of College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Tatung University, Taipei, before joining NTUT. His research interests include healthcare systems design, Internet of Things (IoT), and medical data mining. Prof. Huang is a senior member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the IET.
Dr. Yong Jeong is an associate Professor of Department of Bio and Brain Engineering, Program of Brain and Cognitive Engineering, Graduate School of Medical Science and Technology at KAIST. Currently he is serving as a director of KAIST Institute for Health Science and Technology (KIHST). Dr. Jeong received his M.D degree in 1991 and Ph.D in neurophysiology in 1997 at Yonsei University. He is also a Neurologist and affiliated with Samsung Medical Center and KAIST Papparado Clinic. His main interest of research is to explore the fundamental architecture of brain underlying cognitive process and pathophysiology of neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular disease. He is now leading Dr. M Project, a smart health care platform system initiated from KAIST.
Prof. Tetsuo Kobayashi received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering in 1984 from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. Since 2004, he has been a full professor of Biomedical Engineering in Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. He is an author or co-author of more than 250 publications. His research interests include functional neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, biomagnetism and magnetic resonance imaging. Since 2012, he has been the Vice-President of Institute of Complex Medical Engineering (ICME). He is currently a councilor of Japanese Society of Biomagnetism and a councilor of Japanese Society for Brain Electromagnetic Topography (JSBET).
Abbas Kouzani, PhD, is Professor of Microsystems Engineering and Director of Advanced Integrated Microsystems Group at Deakin University, Australia. His research interests focus on medical and biological microsystems including lab-on-a-chip devices, bioinstruments, implants, biosensors, RF microdevices, and biofabrication.
Jiming Liu is the Chair Professor of Computer Science and the Acting Dean of Faculty of Science at Hong Kong Baptist University. He received his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from McGill University. His research interests include Data Analytics, Data Mining and Machine Learning, Complex Network Analytics, Data-Driven Complex Systems Modeling, and Health Informatics. He is a Fellow of the IEEE. Prof. Liu has served as the Editor-in-Chief of Web Intelligence Journal (IOS), and the Associate Editor of Big Data and Information Analytics (AIMS), IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering (Bentham), and Computational Intelligence (Wiley), among others.
Dr. Qing is Professor and head of Department of Biological Science in School of life Science, Beijing Institute of Technology. He has more than 20 years of experience in neuroscience research and drug discovery for Neurodegenerative Disorders. Dr. Qing holds a MD and Ph. D in Neurobiology from Sun Yat-sen Medical University Science, he has authored more than 100 manuscripts, 2 patents. Dr. Qing is also an adjunct faculty member at Lan Zhou University, China.
Dr. Qiu is associate professor at Department of Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Imaging Research Centre at National University of Singapore. She is also a principal investigator at Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences of Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR).
Dr. Qiu has been devoted to innovation in computational analyses of complex and informative datasets comprising of disease phenotypes and neuroimages to understand the origins of individual differences in health throughout the lifespan.
Dr. Santello is Professor, Harrington Endowed Chair, and Director of the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. He has over 20 years of experience in research on neural control of movement, biomechanics, and neurophysiology. Dr. Santello holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of Birmingham, UK. He has authored more than 100 publications in neuroscience and biomedical engineering journals. His research has been supported by US federal agencies (NIH, NSF, DARPA), foundations, and industry, and has served on grant review panels for funding agencies in the US and Europe.
Dr Tachibana is an honorary Professor of Hyogo College of Medicine and an honorary Director of Nishinomiya Kyoritsu Neurosurgical Hospital, Nishinomiya, Japan. He graduated from Keio University, School of Medicine,Tokyo and received PhD from Keio University. He studied cerebral blood flow in dementia at Baylor College of Medicine,Houston,USA under Professor John S Meyer. He is a Japanese board-certified Neurologist. He served as a Professor and Chairman of Internal Medicine, Hyogo College of Medicine and has been working on pathophysiology of cognitive function in dementing illnesses using SPECT, cold xenon and CT, MRI and neuropsychological measurements.
Shusaku Tsumoto graduated from Osaka University, School of Medicine in 1989, received his Ph.D from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1997, and now is a Professor of Medical Informatics in Shimane University. His interests include approximate reasoning, data mining, fuzzy sets, granular computing, hospital management, intelligent information system, knowledge acquisition, non-classical logic, rough sets and service science (alphabetical order). He served as a president of International Rough Set Society from 2000 to 2005 and serves as a co-chair of technical committee on Granular Computing in IEEE SMC society from 2008.
Teresa Wu is a Professor of Industrial Engineering Program, School of Computing, Informatics, Decision Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. Dr. Yamasaki is an executive director and a director of Clinical Departments of Minkodo Minohara Hospital. He also worked at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Kyushu University, as an assistant professor (2005–2007), a research assistant professor (2007–2015) and a research fellow (2015–present). Based on 19 years of clinical education and experience in the fields of neurology and clinical neurophysiology, his main interest has focused on non-invasive measurements of human brain function, especially higher visual recognition in healthy humans and various neurological disorders, by combining psychophysiological, electrophysiological (EEG, ERPs) and neuroimaging (fMRI, MEG, NIRS) methods.
Dr. Meixiang Yu is the Director of Cyclotron cGMP Radiochemistry Laboratory, Associate Professor, Department of Radiology, Weill Cornell Medical College. He has been PI, Co-PI, co- investigator in over 10 Grants as a Senior radiochemist in 15 years PET drug research; Dr. Yu has advanced knowledge in radiochemistry and medicinal chemistry, especially in the positron emission tomography (PET) neuroimaging biomarker development; Dr. Yu is a Certified cGMP Professional; Certified cGLP professional; Certified Medical Cyclotron Operator; RDRC, IND, aNDA documentation Manager. Dr. Yu is an experienced scientist in PET neuroimaging drug development and production, quality assurance, quality control, various synthesis modules, QC instruments; Designing, building and fully operation of a new cyclotron cGMP PET radiopharmaceutical laboratory.
Ning Zhong is currently head of Knowledge Information Systems Laboratory, and a professor in Department of Life Science and Informatics, Maebashi Institute of Technology, Japan. Dr. Zhong is the editor-in-chief of Brain Informatics journal (Springer Nature), the editor-in-chief of Brain Informatics & Health (BIH) book series (Springer Nature), and serves as editorial board for several international journals and book series and editor (the area of intelligent systems) of the Encyclopedia of Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. Zhong is the co-founder and co-chair of Web Intelligence Consortium (WIC), chair of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Task Force on Brain Informatics, co-founder and steering committee co-chair of IEEE/WIC/ACM international conference on Web Intelligence (WI), and co-founder and steering committee co-chair of international conference on Brain Informatics & Health (BIH).
Dr. Yun Zhou is Assistant Professor at the The Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Guest Professor of Peking University First Hospital. Dr. Zhou obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Physics and M.S. in Biomathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on the quantitative functional imaging with PET, SPECT, CT, MRI, and its applications in neurology, oncology, and drug evaluation.
Giacomo Zaccone is full Professor and Chair of Comparative Anatomy at the Department of Biomedical Sciences of University of Messina.His pioneering and original contributions covered the area of comparative neurobiology with special reference to oxygen chemoreception and cardiovascular system in fishes. The numerous research and review papers have focused to the morphology, immunohistochemistry of the neuroepithelial cells in both primitive Actinopterygians and Teleosts, and the air-breathing organs of the higher Teleosts. In light of this his attaction to question about the origin of the vertebrate air breathing and the evolution of tetrapods from the fishes is the main scope.
Nikos Chrisochoides is the Richard T. Cheng Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Old Dominion University and John Simon Guggenheim Fellow in Medicine and Health. He is elected a Distinguished Visiting Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering at UK. His research interests are in medical image computing. He received his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University, and held academic positions at Syracuse, Cornell, Notre Dame, CWM as well as visiting positions at Harvard Medical School, MIT , Brown, NASA/LaRC where he received numerous awards: NSF CAREER, IBM Professor, Alex Nason, Niarchos, Alumni Memorial Distinguished Professorship.
Prof. Antonio Gloria is a Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy and Professor at different universities. He is a Scientific Advisory Board Member of the Fraunhofer International Joint Laboratory Ideas – University of Naples “Federico II”. He is a Member of the European Society for Biomaterials, the ACS and a Full Member of the ANS. He was awarded and appointed as “Future Leader” in Science and Technology (“Dialogue between Nobel Laureates and Future Leaders,” STS Forum, October 2015, Kyoto, Japan). His main research interests include biomedical engineering, additive manufacturing, reverse engineering, biomaterials, tissue engineering, modeling/simulation, materials science and technology.
Dr. Gozani is Chairman, President and CEO of NeuroMetrix, Inc. Since founding the company in 1996, he’s led NeuroMetrix from a venture capital backed start-up, through an IPO, through development of a diagnostics business, and presently into the wearable technology sector. He’s published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and has been awarded 25 patents. Dr. Gozani holds a B.A. degree in Computer Science, a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received an M.D. from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Ciobica has more than 10 years of research experience in studying various behavioral tests and animal models of neuropsychiatric disorders in rats. These studies were also completed by various biochemical, molecular and histological analyses, especially connected to the relevance of the oxidative stress status in some neuropsychiatric diseases, as studied in both human patients and animal models of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and autism
Dr. Medha D Joshi is an Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Pharmacy. She is also a member of Midwestern University’s Nanomedicine Center of Excellence in Translational Cancer Research. She has expertise in lipid based drug delivery systems including micro emulsions, liposome technology and targeted drug delivery to the brain. She has more than 25 peer reviewed research articles, 2 patents and 3 book chapter to her credit. She is a PI and co-investigator on several intramural and extramural grants such as Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery foundation, NIH AREA grant etc.
Maysam F. Abbod received the Ph.D. degree in control engineering from The University of Sheffield, U.K., in 1992. He is currently a Reader of Electronic Systems with the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Brunel University London, U.K. He has authored over 50 papers in journals, nine chapters in edited books, and over 50 papers in refereed conferences. His current research interests include intelligent systems for modelling and optimization. He is a member of the IET (U.K.), and a Chartered Engineer (U.K.). He is serving as an Associate Editor of the Engineering Application of Artificial Intelligence (Elsevier).
Prof. Chenzhong Li, is the director of the nanobioengineering/biosensor laboratory, in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Florida International University (FIU,Miami). Dr. Li is an expert in bioelectronics, specifically in the development of biomedical sensors such as organ on chips, and wearable/portable bioelectronics for point of care testing. He is the winner of many national and international awards and he has approximately 140 journal publications.
Professor Wutian Wu, received his MD, MS degree from Sun Yat-Sun University Medical Sciences, Guangzhou China in 1981, and PhD degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Virginia, USA in 1991. Since 1996, Dr Wu has been working as assistant professor to professor in the Department of Anatomy, LKS Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. He is the associate director of the State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, University of Hong Kong; associate director of GHM Institute of CNS Regeneration, Jinan University, Guangzhou.
Dr. Lalit Gupta is currently a Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. His research interests are in information fusion, pattern recognition, neuroinformatics, neural networks, and signal processing. He has been awarded grants/contracts from NSF, the Army Research Office, Seagate Technology, Cleveland Medical Devices/NIH, Think-A-Move Inc./NIH, Neuronetrix/NIH, Naval Postgraduate School, Rockwell-Collins, and CTB/McGraw-Hill. Jagriti Narang, Amity Institute of nanotechnology, Amity University, Noida (UP). Contribution-60 research papers with total impact of 150.0; Inventor, Patentee (7 Indian Patents) on biosensors and uses of nanotechnology in molecular techniques. Dr Malcolm Pope. Professor Emeritus of Medicine at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland from 1998 – 2007, having over 30 yrs experience in medical research, engineering, teaching and clinical practice, an esteemed authority in the field of occupational health, spinal problems and chronic back pain. Dr Pope was Director of the Iowa Spine Research Centre in USA, twice receiving the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Kappa Delta Award, and Vienna Award for Rehabilitation Research. Research also earned him many awards from ISSLS, American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Med, American Arthroscopy Association and the International Knee Society .
Xiaojun Yu is an associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and Biological Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2002 from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. His research interests include Nanobiotechnolgy, Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery. He has published over 60 refereed papers. His research has been supported by NIH, DOD, NSF and several private foundations. He has served as number of technical and proposal reviewers and panel member for NSF, NIH and DOD. He is also a journal referee for number of journals.
Prof. Redha Taiar is a Professor at the University of Reims Champaign France. He is a specialist on Biomechanics of health disease and rehabilitation. His researches focus on the industry engineering for medicine and high level sport. He is engineer for different industries like Arena for the high level sport and Sidas, Medicapteur for the medical development. For industry workers his last work was the conception and validation of anti-fatigue mats. For sport his last works focus on the development of swimsuit for triathlon, swimming and skiing for Brazil Olympic Games (2016) and winter Sotchi 2014 Olympic Games.
Rolando A. Gittens received his M.Sc. in Materials Science & Engineering, and PhD in Bioengineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the role of surface nanostructural and electrical properties of biomaterials on cell differentiation for bone and neural regeneration. His work has yielded two patents for surface nanomodification of titanium implants, more than 15 publications in high-impact journals, co-authorship in a book chapter, and several conference awards. Dr. Gittens is currently working as a Research Engineer at INDICASAT AIP, in Panama, on the establishment of new research lines focused on biomaterials and stem cell manipulation for regenerative medicine.
Dr. Shaul Mordechai (PhD) is a Professor of Physics and Head of the Biomedical Spectroscopy Laboratory at the Department of Physics, Ben Gurion University, Israel. He received his PhD from the Racah Institute of Physics, Hebrew University Jerusalem. His research interest include: Medical Physics, Biomedical Optics, Neurological Disorders, FTIR-Microscopy, FTIR-Imaging, Mid-IR Spectrometry, and Optical Diagnostics. He was a Visiting Scientist at the University of Texas at Austin, Los Alamos National Laboratory and the University of Pennsylvania. He has edited /reviewed for many academic journals and national grant foundations and collaborated with scientists from many foreign universities and national laboratories.
Dr. Rakesh Tekade is currently working as Professor (Asst.) in National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Sarkhej – Gandhinagar. He is a recipient of several internationally acclaimed fellowships and awards and to his credit there are many meritorious awards. He worked as postdoctoral fellows in UTSouthwestern Medical Center (USA) and The University of Hawaii (USA). Rakesh subsequently joined International Medical University (Malaysia) as faculty; where he developed a well-funded research program (FRGS-MOSTI, IMUJC). The principal research interests of his research group mainly encompass synthesis of novel biopolymers for solubilization and targeted delivery of hydrophobes, drug/protein/siRNA/gene for cancer therapy. Rakesh is an Editor of Six volume book series (ELSEVIER). He has published more than 80 publications in peer reviewed international journals.
Dr. Panos Liatsis is the Department Chair of Computer Science and holds a joint appointment in the Departments of Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Khalifa University of Science and Technology, UAE. Panos’ research interests include machine learning, pattern recognition and image processing algorithms and their applications in biomedical engineering. His expertise spans the fields of cardiac CT imaging and stenosis characterization, bio-flow modelling, non-invasive estimation of blood analytes and biometrics. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a European Engineer.

Marta Parazzini received the M.D. in Biomedical engineering and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. She is a Research Scientist at the Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering, Italian National Research Council (CNR), Milano, Italy. Her primary research activity deals with the medical applications of electromagnetic field (EMF), the computational modeling of the interactions between EMF and biological system, the deterministic and stochastic methods applied to EMF exposure assessment.
CHRISTIAN COLLET received a Ph.D. in Neurophysiology from Claude Bernard University (Lyon, France) in 1995. He is currently full professor in Neurophysiology and head of the Inter-University Laboratory of Human Movement Science. During the last ten years, he has conducted research in the areas of human factors in cognitive ergonomics and in the more general area of motor performance, focusing on the effects of mental processes on motor performance. The main topics are related to the general fields of motor imagery and mental workload (control of emotional activity, arousal and vigilance).
Bernadette A. Murphy is a Professor and Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She holds a PhD in Human Neurophysiology from the University of Auckland. The overall theme of her research is neural plasticity in humans. She investigates the role of altered sensory input from the spine on sensorimotor integration and motor control. She combines performance measures of speed and accuracy with neurophysiological techniques including transcranial magnetic stimulation, and somatosensory evoked and has authored more than 65 manuscripts.
