Abstract

Based on semiconductor optical amplifier module, a novel multi-wavelength optical access network with simple ONUs and feeder fiber protection is presented. By innovatively placing semiconductor optical amplifier modules at the remote node, the optical network achieves the simplicity of ONUs and 10 Gbps symmetry downstream/upstream transmissions. On the other hand, by utilizing C+L bands in crossseeding scheme, the band utilization of fibers is improved, the network scale is increased and the coherent interference is eliminated. By using the design of feeder fiber with mutual protection, this structure has good network robustness. By using DPSK orthogonal modulation technology, the system can provide broadcast service. In the end, the system simulation proved that the system has good performance at 10Gbps. The reliability performance meets the basic requirements of communication as well.
