Abstract

A microwave assisted synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides utilizing catalytic Nbromosuccinimide (NBS) and stoichiometric sodium bicarbonate instead of CO₂ has been developed. The comparison study between microwave and conventional oil bath indicated significant merit associated with microwave.
