Abstract
Flower-shaped Ag-ZnO microplates were directly synthesized from an aqueous solution of zinc nitrate and silver nitrate in the presence of CTAB at 120°C. The as-synthesized products were investigated in terms of their morphological, structural, photocatalytic properties. Methylene blue (MB) and gaseous iso-propanol (IPA) are employed to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of the Ag-doped ZnO microplates. The photocurrent response experiments are also carried out. The as-formed composite shows higher efficiency of photocatalytic degradation on MB and IPA. Moreover, it also exhibits obvious photocurrent under light irradiation.
