Abstract
An efficient Pd(PPh3)4/2,5-norbornadiene-catalyzed cycloaddition of 1,4-disubstituted 1,3-butadiynes with H2O under basic conditions for straightforward and simple synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted furans is described.
