Abstract
NiO-SnO2 composite nano-powder has been synthesized with an average size of 25 nm. The structural and compositional analysis of the prepared catalyst has been carried out by using XRD, XRF, and TEM. The prepared nanocomposite has been evaluated for its catalytic activity in the three-component reactions of aldehydes, amides / urea and 2- naphthol at 100 °C. The reaction results in the synthesis of a variety of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthol derivatives in high yields and catalyst can be recovered and recycled without a significant loss in the catalytic activity.
