Abstract

Citric acid was used as green, non-toxic and reusable catalyst for the preparation of substituted 2,3- dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)ones in high purity and good yields via one-pot three-component reaction of isatoic anhydride with a variety of aldehydes and primary amines or ammonium acetate in water at 80 ° C.
