Abstract
The structure and photoluminescent properties of films obtained by modified laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) of TiOx at room temperature are presented. The morphology and chemical composition of the layers were studied by SEM, XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Strong variations in structure with preparation methods are observed. Titanium oxide nanoparticle films are observed in argon ambient, while in air ambient the films consist of a network of nanowires. The influence of film structure and ambient gas during film formation on the fluorescence characteristics of the film were investigated. A visible luminescence band centered around 440 nm was observed and its intensity varied with preparation gas ambient. Possible mechanisms for film formation and photoluminescent behavior are discussed.
