Abstract
The field emissin properties of tetrapod-liked zinc oxide nanoneedles (T-ZnO) on silver electrodes were enhanced by coating with graphene oxide (GO) sheets. Field emission device based on GO sheets coated T-ZnO exhibited lower operation voltage, better stability and more emission uniformity when compared with the pure T-ZnO emitters. It is proposed that the introduction of GO sheets improved the mechanical connection and electrical conduction between the T-ZnO and Ag electrode, and resulted in the improved field emission property for the emitters.
