Microbiology
Microbiology includes resources dealing with all aspects of fundamental and applied studies of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. This category also considers resources on the clinical aspects of the occurrence and treatment of microbial pathogens, basic science studies of microbial biochemistry and function, environmental microbiology, and bacterial/viral uses in biotechnology.
The section, Microbiology of the journal, Current Indian Science contains original research and review articles, and special issues of interest to the readers that showcase novelty, enlighten futuristic thoughts, and raise important questions and hypotheses regarding an interesting and important biological question in the various dimensions. This section is devoted to the advancement of scientific research concerning microbiology, biotechnology, and related academic disciplines. The section will only accept submissions with novel scientific research results and high quality reviews that are directly relevant to microbiological systems and/or applications.

Anil Kumar is a Ph.D. and working as Staff Scientist at Gene Regulation Laboratory, National Institute of Immunology, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi, India. His current research activities are focused on the study of gut microbiome, cancer biology and how the result of this investigation may be helpful to devise strategies to promote human health and prevent diseases such as cancer? Research activities in his lab also aim at identifying more gut flora and their metabolites and understanding the interactions of these metabolites within gut bacteria and with the host. As an inventor, he has been credited with more than 50 patents (granted).
Dr. Amit Singh is working as Scientist in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, He has pursued his PG in Microbiology and obtained PhD in Clinical Microbiology from AIIMS, New Delhi. He has more than 12 years of research and teaching experience. He has extensive publications in national and international journals and he has authored more than 70 publications, books chapters and books. He has been awarded with many national and international prestigious awards, such as FEMS young scientist award (2013), Bill and Melinda gates foundation award (2016), AIIMS research excellence award 2017, and various best posters awards. His key research domains are infectious disease, proteomics, clinical microbiology, molecular diagnosis, drug resistance, epidemiology, cloning, expression and purification of recombinant proteins.
Dr. Pushpender Kumar Sharma is working as an Associate Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Rajasthan, India. Previously, he has worked as an Assistant Professor at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab, India. He completed his PhD from Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University Chandigarh and postdoctoral studies from Indian Institute of Sciences Education and Research Mohali, Punjab, India. He has more than 14 years of teaching and research experience and has guided four students for their PhD degree. His research interest focuses on metagenomic and meta transcriptome analysis of microbial communities in different environments. Expression and purification of novel proteins, protein engineering, and antimicrobial peptides. Bio catalysts engineering and their applications. He has published more than 42 research/review articles in journals of international repute and several book chapters. He has been awarded with the young scientist project award by SERB, New Delhi. He has also been awarded a patent for engineering a thermostable protein. He has reviewed several research papers for international journals from Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, ACS etc. He got awards of excellence for reviewing Elsevier's International Journal of Biological Macromolecules.
