Dr. Qiang (Shawn) Cheng PhD degree from University of Illinois. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Kentucky. His previous experience includes working as a faculty fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson, OH, and a senior researcher at Siemens Medical/Corporate Research, Siemens Corp., Princeton, NJ. His research interests include data science, biomedical informatics, machine learning, pattern recognition, and artificial intelligence. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in various premium venues. He has a number of international patents issued or filed with IBM T.J. Watson Research Laboratory and Siemens Medical.
Hung-Wei Wu obtained Ph.D. degree from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Dr. Wu is Senior Member of IEEE and Member of the European Microwave Association (EuMA), . He has served as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies and Recent Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering since 2013.
He has authored or coauthored over 100 publications. His research interests include planar microwave filters, thin-film microstrip lines, transparent conducting oxide (TCO) thin films, bioelectronics, and biosensors in microwave and millimeter-wave applications.
Ali Akdagli received Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Erciyes University,. From 2003 to 2006, he was an Assistant Professor in at Erciyes University. He joined the same department at Mersin University, where he currently works as a Professor. He has published more than 100 papers in journals and conference proceedings. His current research interests include evolutionary optimization techniques (genetic algorithm, ant colony optimization, and artificial bee colony algorithms), artificial neural networks and their applications to electromagnetic, wireless communication systems, microwave circuits, microstrip antennas, and antenna pattern synthesis problems.
Dr. Francesco Benedetto is currently the Chair of the IEEE 1900.1 Working Group on "Definitions and Concepts for Dynamic Spectrum Access: Terminology Relating to Emerging Wireless Networks, System Functionality, and Spectrum Management". He is a Senior Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and a member of: IEEE Standard Association, IEEE Young Professionals, IEEE Software Defined Networks, IEEE Communications, IEEE Signal Processing, IEEE Vehicular Technology.
Prof. C. Peng received Ph.D. degree in Chinese University of Mining Technology, China, His current research interests include networked control systems, distributed control systems, smart grid, and intelligent control systems.
Prof. Peng was a recipient of one of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers in Computer Science by Elsevier from 2014 to 2017. He is an Associate Editor of a number of international journals, including the Information Sciences, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control and Recent Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Prof. Ling Wang is an associate professor in Control Theory and Control Engineering at Shanghai University, China. He received his B.Sc. degree in Automation and Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology (Shanghai, China) in 2002 and 2007, respectively. His research interests include metaheuristics (Human Learning Optimization, Quantum-inspired Evolutionary Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization, and Differential Evolution), machine learning, data-driven methods and their applications to process control, power systems, and industrial wireless sensor networks. Prof. Wang, as an author/co-author, has published more than 55 articles in various journals, having over 560 total citations.
Dr. Zobaa is a registered Chartered Engineer, Chartered Energy Engineer, European Engineer, and International Professional Engineer. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy of U.K. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Energy Institute of U.K., the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Royal Society of Arts, the African Academy of Science, and the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Bo Chen is currently a tenure tracked professor with the Institute of Cyberspace Security, Zhejiang University of Technology, China. H e was a Research Fellow with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technologic al University, Singapore, from 2014 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2018. He was also a Post- Doctoral Research Fellow with the Department of Mathematics, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Ko ng, China, from 2015 to 2017. He was a recipient of the outstanding thesis award of Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) in 2015.
Dr. Gulshan Sharma is presently working as Senior Lecturer & Deputy Director of RTPS center in Department of Electrical Power Engineering, Durban University of Technology, Durban, South Africa. He has more than 10 years of teaching and research experience. He has the qualifications of B. Tech, M. Tech and Ph.D. from Punjab Technical University (Punjab), Jamia Millia Islamia University (New Delhi) and Malaviya National Institute of Technology (Jaipur), India. He was a Post Doctoralresearch fellow at Faculty of EBIT, University of Pretoria, South Africa from 2015 to 2016. He has published a number of research papers in international journals and conferences and has been continuously engaged in guiding research activities at graduate/post-graduate and Ph.D. levels. His area of interest includes power system operation and control, renewable power generation, FACTS andapplication of AI techniques to power systems.
Qixin Zhu was born in Anhui province, China, in 1971. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Automation from Xi’an Polytechnic University, Xi’an, China, in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2003. He was with Nantong University, Nantong, China, from April 1997 to July 2004. He was with ASM Assembly Automation Ltd., Hong Kong, China, from July 2004 to August 2006. He was with East China Jiaotong University, Nanchang, China, from August 2006 to February 2013. He is currently a professor at School of Mechanical Engineering, Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Suzhou, China. His research interests include servo control, networked control systems, robot, robust control and the applications of control theory in engineering.
Dr. Abdurrahim Toktas received B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Gaziantep University, Turkey, 2002. He worked as Telecom Specialist for Turk Telecom Company from 2003 to 2009, and then for IT Department of Mersin University until 2015. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in EEE at Mersin University, Turkey, 2010 and 2014, respectively. He is currently Associate Professor with Department of EEE, KMU, Turkey. He is the author of more than 70 articles and conference proceedings. His main research interests include antennas, microstrip antennas, MIMO antennas, applications of optimization algorithms and machine learning to antennas and microwave.
Fabio Mottola received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. His research interests include the planning and operation of electrical power systems in the presence of distributed energy resources and lightning effects on power systems. Fabio Mottola is Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Paolo Visconti received M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering (1996) and PhD from University of Lecce (2000) in photonic and electronic nano-devices field. In 2000/01, he was visiting scientist at Virginia Commonwealth University (USA) working on fabrication and characterization of GaN-based devices. Since 2001 he is carrying on research and teaching activity in Electronics at the Department of Innovation Engineering (University of Salento, Italy) overseeing more than 80 students' research activities for B.S. and M.S. degrees and doctoral degree. Actually his research interests include: analog/digital circuit design, design of PIC-based boards for data-acquisition, remote control of complex facilities.
Dr. Paulo B. De Moura Oliveira obtained his M.Sc. degree in Industrial Control Systems (in 1994) and Ph.D. degree in Control Engineering (in 1998), both from Salford University, Manchester, UK. He is an Associated Professor with Habilitation at the Engineering Department of UTAD University, Vila Real, Portugal, and a researcher at the INESC TEC Institute, Porto, Portugal. His research interests are focused on the fields of control engineering, intelligent control, PID control, control education, evolutionary and natural inspired algorithms for single and multiple objective optimization problem solving. He, as an author/co-author has published more than 80 articles in various journals, having over 580 total citations.
Dr. Athanasios received his Dipl.-Eng. and PhD degrees Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is currently Assistant Professor at Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. He received the 2015 IEEE R8 Outstanding Branch Chapter Advisor and 2016 IEEE Industry Applications Society Outstanding Student Branch Chapter Advisor Awards. His research activities include more than 50 papers in scientific journals, book chapters and international conference proceedings and are focused in electrical machines and drives, diagnostic techniques and renewable energies.
Juš Kocijan received the Ph.D. degree from University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is currently a Senior Researcher with the Jožef Stefan Institute and Professor of Electrical Engineering with the University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia. His research interests include the modeling and control of dynamic systems. Prof. Kocijan is a Senior Member of the IEEE Control Systems Society, and a Member of SLOSIM— Slovenian Society for Simulation and Modelling and Automatic control society of Slovenia.
Dr. Mickaël Lallart was graduated from Institut National des Sciences Appliqu\'ees de Lyon, France and received his Ph.D. in electronics, electrotechnics, and automatics from the same university. After working as a post-doctoral fellow in the Center for Intelligent Material Systems and Structures (CIMSS) in Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA.. His current field of interest is related to electroactive materials and systems, with a special focus on vibration damping and energy harvesting using piezoelectric, pyroelectric or electrostrictive devices, as well as autonomous, self-powered wireless systems.
AGUSTI SOLANAS earned M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Rovira Virgili University. He has been serving as a professor in the department of Computer Engineering and Mathematics and he is also the head of the Smart Health Research Group at Rovira Virgil University. He also received a Diploma of advanced studies from the Technical University of Catalonia in 2005 and Ph.D. in the Department of Telematics Engineering from the same University in 2007. His areas of research are smart health, health informatics, behaviour analysis, multivariate analysis, privacy protection, and computer security. He is also a senior member of IEEE and serves as a scientific coordinator at APWG.EU.
Dr. Chun-Yi Su is a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Concordia University. He received his Ph.D. degree in control engineering from South China University of Technology. His research covers control theory and its applications to various mechanical systems. Dr. Su has authored or coauthored over 250 journal publications. He has been on the Editorial Board of a few journals, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology.
Dr. Wang is an associate professor of Tianjin University. His research interests include power quality, distributed generation system, microgrid and smart power consumption. He received his Ph.D. degree from Tianjin University in 2005.. He has published over 30 academic research papers in his research area and hold four China national invention patents. In addition, he has leaded his research team to finish over 10 different projects in his research area.
Professor Ji Wang has been a Qianjiang fellow of Zhejiang province at Ningbo University since 2002. He has been working on acoustic waves in piezoelectric solids for resonator design and analysis in his research with US and Chinese patents and over 120 journal papers. He has also been consulting for industry on acoustic wave resonator design and development. He has also been a member of many international conference committees and currently serving the IEEE UFFC Technical Program Committees of the Frequency Control and Ultrasonic Symposia, the IEEE MTT-S, and the IEC TC-49.
Dr. Ahmad M. Eid is currently an Associate Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Aswan University, Egypt. He received a PhD at the University of Texas at Tyler, TX, USA/South Valley University, Egypt in 2010. His research interests include Power Quality, Renewable Energy, Hybrid Power Systems, Electric Power Systems, Energy Conversion Systems, Aircraft Electric Power Systems, and High Voltage Engineering Applications. He has contributed his valuable publications in different scientific journals.
Dr. Bharatiraja received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical engineering at SRM University, Chennai, India in 2015.He has been working for 10 years in the Power Electronics field .He is currently working as an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India. He has authored more than 80 papers, which are published in international journal including IEEE transactions.
Bing Wang received the B.S. degree from Hefei University of Technology in 1998 and the Ph.D. degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2006, respectively. He is a full professor in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, Anhui University of Technology, China, and Director of Department of Electronics, Information & Communication Engineering. His research interests mainly focus on signal & image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and electronic system design, with more than 100 journals and conferences papers. He is a senior member of IEEE from 2014.
Mihaela Popescu received the Engineering degree and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Craiova, Romania, in 1988 and 2001, respectively. She also received the certificate of Habilitation in Electrical Engineering in 2016.She is currently a Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Craiova, Romania and Director of Department of Electro mechanics, Environment and Applied Informatics. Her main field of interest includes energy efficiency, power quality, power electronics, electrical drives, Matlab-Simulink modeling and simulation, and DSP-based control, with more than 150 journals and conference papers.
