Abstract: Conditions have been found for an efficient regioselective β-hydrosilylation of allylbenzene, 2-allyl-1- trimethylsiloxybenzene, 4-allyl-1,2-(methylenedioxy)benzene, allylpentafluorobenzene, and 4-allyl-2-methoxy-1- trimethylsiloxybenzene with D4H in the presence of Karstedts-catalyst or platinum black under mild conditions leading quantitatively to functionalized tetramethylcyclosiloxanes 3.
